hi

i want to know whether courses like CFA, FRM CAIA are only done by the ppl who have some yrs of experience in their pocket or are they done by fresh graduates too?

I know if you have a bachelors degree then you may pursue them but the reason i'm asking this is because they are highly specialized courses so what is the situation like when fresh graduates decide to do them?

sorry ... posted on wrong thread ...

Hello,

I have done MS(Insurance) from ICFAI. Presently I am not working as I have a small baby but wish to start working from next year. I was intrested in doing CA. Can anyone suggest me if it will benefit me n my resume. My MS(Insurance) has not helped me much in the past. I think this is the best time for me to enhance my skills as I am at home only. I am 27, so is it a good decision to go for CA at this age?

Hope to get good suggestions......

hi all

me a level 2 candidate.

m new to this forum. plz help me out. i have a full time job from mon to friday. hav been reading from the cfa books only and i expect to finish the first reading by the 3rd week of April. With just 40 odd days left after that and also considering practicing questions n papers would be more important i have figured ot tat i'll be able to refer to schweser only in those 40 days. please advice if it's a right move or if i have read from the books and dont revise frm them it would be a futile effort and should read from schwesers alone from now itself?

please help.

Guys can i use multiple credit cards to pay the required fees?
If yes: how to do that?

Hi. Tomorrow is the last date for registering for CFA-aimr June 2010, and I am confused.. Please help.
I am currently in MBA first year and I have a good knowledge of Finance and I plan to speacialize in Finance next year. But I do not like to study statistical and mathematical subjects. Further I can begin my study only after March 25th. I will have 2-3 hours on weekdays (because I will be doing my summer training) and the weekends for preparation. I've not started to study at all as yet.
The reason I want to do CFA is to improve my placements.
I am seeking answers to:-
1. Will a Level I CFA help improve my placement?
2. Do I have sufficient time to successfully clear the test in June 2010?
3. Will it be a better idea to do CFA later in my career?

Believe me..the way you are squeezing time I fear it would be very difficult for you to study 16-20 hours per week...REGULARLY.. yes..its easy to study 20 hours for 1,2,3..but more than that..regularly! That's tough man!! CFA L1 will make your resume very attractive..onely if you pass it!!

One should understand that CFA L1 should be looked upon as a building block for further levels and further advanced knowledge...doing L1 just for sake of degree/certificate will harm you in the long term. I suggest you all to give a lot of time for your L1 preparation..properly digest all the fundas.. if some fundas are taking time..then let them take time...do it slowly but do it perfectly! FOr knowledge! not for certificate!

Doing CFA later in your career is a good idea I think. I am not discouraging you...but its better to be realistic. You wont top if I say you will right??

Scintilla

i would cut it short-
1.material to prepare for 1st level CFA.
2.availability
3.cost

Hi All,

I have registered for the CFA only recently, and have opted for Mumbai as my preferred choice of test center. I will be taking 3 months off work to study for the exam, and will be devoting a significant amount of time to studies ( certainly over 300 hours or so ). Would that be sufficient.

Also is Allen resources products worth buying for the CFA level 1?

Look forward to hearing from you all.

Thanks.

Has been discussed more number of times than you can imagine, visit this forum or if you need shortcut go through the forum CFA level 1 June 2010, that has relatively lesser number of posts and would be sufficient to answer most of your queries

If only the work is in investment field that would be counted as relevant work x

Some people clear CFA studying 12 days . Some can't do even after years. It depends on how well you are understanding the concepts
