My Life as a Bank Officer

for a 25yr old female who always wants to be in good cities/metros what is the scope of working as a PO in BOI, kolkata? currently it is just 2.5 months, work is not hectic, people are good, funny, friendly, work load is not too much, many holidays, good salary of nearly 40K. so everything looks positive. so why people say PO job is bad? hell?

How to assure the Interviewers in RRB interview that i am not going to leave it, as we all know that many of the selected candidate left the RRB's after getting selected in PSB's . Any RRB  PUY ?

Guys #Offtopic

I used to work in a PSB in a contractual post. Resigned post working for 20 days. They say they won't give me any releasing letter or experience certificate coz I haven't served the 1 month notice period. Now am going to join a RRB...Had requested for extension citing current job's notice period. Now going to join without any relieving letter. Will It be a problem? I haven't mentioned anywhere that I was previously employed somewhere except the mail I sent to the rrb requesting Extension.

Hello Guys!

I see many posts in this thread bashing Bank Officer.

Many of those bashing banking job have spent less than 5 years in bank.

BUT, have you ever taken opinion from some seniors?

Banking job is the best job for people from small towns and cities, since they can always be posted nearby their hometown and in their circle ( if they deny promotion after Scale 2). With more and more branches opening in small towns and cities, it is a perfect job for those living in towns and villages

What else matters apart being close to family and to earn a good amount of money?

Good amount of money = Salary + Monthly Perks + Quarters Rent

Hello i am.currently working in department of IT Rajasthan Govt in subordinate cadre current salary 22000 after all deductions & after 7th pay in hand salary is expected to be around 28K. I have good chances of getting selected in this years ibps po & expecting PNB/BOB to be allotted what should i prefer? Should i join banking or should i stay in my current job?

Hello Everybody...am presently working as a Scale I in a RRB. I hope I will be able to clear IBPS PO this year. So my question is, If I apply for Jaiib registration using my present employee code and later when I shift to another bank, my employee code would change. Won't it pose a problem then? Am not sure what details are to be filled while applying for Jaiib 😞 And lastly, How should I prepare myself for jaiib? Best books or test series if any for this course? Suggestions are welcome 😃

i want to ask one thing i have given all d bank xams and waiting for d result and am optimistic that i will get through ibps po so pls all d bankers who r working right now what should i do in the free time whether i should learn advance ms office or should i learn tally ?? please advice what should be benefitial before joining d bank..

@panzer88 Here is my case. A bit different query! @24 I have MBA marketing and BE Ele both from ghatiya collages! Was never interested in core electrical jobs, want to start up my own business in food & lifestyle. But as my parents have enjoyed a good life with a PSU they want me to do A job! Me doing business right now is strict no no from their side! Was doing a sales job with 25 k but then tried ibps V cleared it with not much hardship got PO in Dena bank, will be posted in Gujarat mostly. So my question here is " Will I be able to take no tension of my job and work load and try to start my business...? I just want this till I start something (1-2 years may be)? " I also think I can clear SSC if I give it some months. I don't want to give all my energy to this bank job, don't want to grow in bank.. just want some stable income to cop up with my needs when I'm trying to set up my business. Anyone reading this who knows what goes in banks please share your veiws :)

Hi puys

I joined a bank on 19.06.2013 as PO.how can i forget this date. i was very happy that time since cracking the toughest IBPS PO-2 paper in history and scoring 174 was not a joke. i am a resident of chandigarh. i was of the feeling that Bank branch is just 1km away from my home. I may get posting there and will enjoy my life. i was not aware of any thing about a bank job. i joined it and bad things started to happen. my initial place of posting was Faridabad. during my ist day of job my manager said "jaana mat ghar jab tak mai wapas na aajaun". i was in branch till 9pm with credit manager doing nothing. i was not having any place to stay then i went to a lodge and had my dinner. On that day i made my decision that i will not stay in a bank. now the horror comes into the picture. daily sitting till 8pm. many times till 10 pm. no holidays. in my 2 yrs of faridabad branch posting out of 106 sundays. i was in branch for more than 80 sundays. i dint get any leave for gazetted holidays as well. my staff was pathetic. they use to give work to me. failure of connectivity ki wajah se sara staff ghar chala jaata tha or mai waha day end ke liye data center call lagata rehta tha. after that new manager came jo pese khaata tha. usne mujse gadhon ke jesaa kaam karwaya. i thought this is what i wanted to do in my life. Have i made it large. in march i got selected for CWC MT but dint join there as posting was in bhopal. jo banda saari life chandigarh raha hoga wo kahin or kese reh paayega. after 2 yrs of posting at faridabad branch, i requested 100 people to get me transferred to chandigarh. finally got transferred and got posting at ZO. i thought bure din gaye and ache din aagye but my assumption was wrong. more pathetic life started more work since i was in NPA department. lot of pending work. holidays pe ofc jaana. sunday ko jana. zm se darke rehna. last 1 year dar me nikal gyaa. i dint loose hope and kept on studying for other exams. at last got selected in NTPC in HR Dept and i am happy that i am joining there. already serving notice period. counting my days in this organisation. if i will die at the age of 70yrs then i will assume that i lived for 67yrs since i wasted my 3 yrs in a public sector bank. social isolation crap it is. now puys will think bank po+3yrs+presently home posting and leaving bank for NTPC. PUYS i want a life and no bonded labor. kya pata kab bihar, UP, MP, Gujarat transfer hojaaye. what i am getting in my new job. salary equal to my current job+no perk till i get promoted+free lunch+5days a week+5.30 pm off daily+lifetime single posting at noida + life. i have so many friends who are trying for some other job. one has already left and joined PFC. this is my story and lot of others story.

PM'S all schemes are launched by bank. hell pressure. daily ek new target. puys will say my bank po friend comes at 5pm daily. so puys wait n watch and then see the real picture. it happens with only 1 lucky guy out of 10.

puys, banks have targets... what actually are they???/ and if we failed to achieve that ...does something happen.....like loosing the job...but many people who admitted that there's too much work and targets also said about job stability......then if we don't loose job then what too worry about targets..... 3 years me transfer ho jaega....... BM ko kehna do jo kehna h......apne ko paisa kamana h
