It seems we have a new breakup of the 15% hike. My worst fears have come true. The break up is as follows : 7% HRA, 6% Grade Pay and 2% Basic Pay.No details of Grade Pay were known till now. Those who live in their own house..its a great advantage. Those who live in a leased accomodation, net increase comes to hardly 5%. All Hail Public Sector Banks.
Apart from relieving letter, what documents are needed at the time of joining for experienced people( from a pvt company)?
Heard abt HDFC smart achivers pgm...Do dey offer a better career?

`guys, i am a north indian, but got posting as a po in the most interior part of the south india, in village to be more precise.the experience so far has been traumatic , to say the least.apart from facing all the problems that is listed here in this grp, i am facing discrimination from both the staff and customers as i don't know the language of this place.
I wouldn't have joined in this location , had i knew that they would post me here. But they called me for the training, got me sign the bond, and posted me here after training.Now i am feeling badly trapped.
I desperately want to get out of here. Out of that desperateness i wrote cgl and missed by 1.75 marks! I missed IT officer exam and insurance exam because all of them fell on saturdays. I can even secure leaves as i am this branch is single officer branch.
Now one exam is coming which falls on sunday that is NIACl exam which is in delhi. I selected delhi becz i want to live there as my ultimate goal is UPSC and its good place for preparation . Also the work days are weekdays only leaving weekends for preparation.
Now I am seeking suggestion from you guys that will it be good decision to join as assistant in an insurance comp. considering my future plans.
I asked HRs about transfers they said min 5 years you have to spend here becz my state don't have good no of branches of this bank.
Please help me puys. I am in dire need of help.
I am going through this page where alot of people are cursing their decision of joining banks.. although I respect their opinions and their feelings.. as per me I believe its all our perception.. every job have pros and cons.. private mein apne tensions and pressure hain.. its same with PSBs.. I feel it also depends on how much you can take it within you.. - This is what I think.. Am I missing something?

P.S. : I'm going to join as a PO soon so need some motivation as whole of the thread is full with negative comment for PO and this scaring hell out of me 😞

Puys please help me deciding my future plan as I am currently in a deadlock situation and can't take a decision on my own.
1) My age is about to be 27 years.
2) I am working in a PSB as a clerk.
3) Gave SSC 2014 mains on 12/4/15 but cannot say anything for my selection here.
4) Frustrated like hell in bank job and the main reason being my SSC CGL 2013,2014 exams.
5) Joined bank job last year just 1 month before SSC CGL 2013 re-exam and ended up getting 390 out of 600 with no job through CGL 13.
6) Now as CGL 14 also been completed I feel like I have not given my 100 percent just because of this job.
7) Since my inner sense gives me a hint to move out of this banking industry due to all aforesaid events and to join any coaching institute as a faculty and give other exams side by side but the main hurdle is my age now as CGL 15 might give deadline of 1st august 2015 as the reckoning age of 27 years in general cat.
8) I am a BE graduate so one more option is to go for GATE/ MTECH and then go for PhD later on but then there could be family pressure for marriage and uncertainty of job after MTECH.
9) I am in a deadlock situation right now and need your advice at this critical point of my life. Please help me Puys !!

Is there any way to serve a reduced notice and still get releaved from the duties of the bank?
I took medical leave for my MBA interviews from 31-Jan-2015. I got my first confirmation on 16th March and sent my resignation intimation on 23 March 2015.
I joined the duties of the bank today 15 Apr 2015. My BM and HR from the regional office say that the one month notice will be counted from today instead of 23 March 2015.
Spending summer in this place with a dead fan, no cooler and no ventilation (thanks to monkeys who laid out the plan for this God-forsaken place) the nights are unbearable as much as the bank job.
Is there anyway I can get the Noc within 15 days so that I can be back home by the 1 May?
My bank is Union Bank.
Any advise will be welcome.

My company closed Windows Phone department and I am in ASP.NET web developement department for last 6 months, and I like it more than Windows Phone app development. I am selected in SBI, BOB clerk and Saurashtra Gramin Bank (sponsered by SBI) officer scale-1. I am in waiting list of IBPS PO.
You must be knowing my expectation from the previous thread (above link) about the bank job. So what should I pick?

Hello people, I have a query regarding the joining formalities in a bank.Once we get the offer letter from the allotted bank, they will be informing us the date before which we have to join.Right?So once the joining formalities of document verification and medical checkup (will the document verification and medical checkup be carried out on the same day?) is over, we have to return back home and have to wait for the official information regarding the results of the medical check up and about the date of commencement of training.Is that correct?If yes,approximately how many days will be there between the date of receiving the medical report/training schedule and the commencement of training?
I have to serve a notice period of one month in my current organization.So i am kind of confused regarding when to put my resignation letter. Appreciate if someone could clarify my doubts.

can those of you working in PSB please tell if MBA grads are given specific profiles after/during probation or are they also given general banking profile? I mean are they preferred for some specific profiles in the Bank even if they join through PO exam? If Yes then what are these profiles and how do they compare with general banking profiles in terms of career avenues and work pressure?
