The Mandi concept was brought into practice by NITIE (National Institute of Industrial Engineering) under the name "Shanti Eva Jayate" through which the college had sold out hundreds of copies of the autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi. The SEJ event, turned out to be a huge success owing to the corporate participants which included Infosys, ONGC, Indian Oil, Asian Paints, Mastek to name a few. The event got a wide media coverage too. The funds raised through the campaign were donated to an NGO as a social liability.
And now Mandi is back again with its Gandhian theme. It would be veracious to acknowledge the role of renowned film Munna Bhai MBBS in stimulating an inclination towards practicing Gandhian principles by the youth on the work front. So a name none other than "Munna Bhai MBA" would be apt for the 2-day Mandi event being organized by ITM (Institute for Technology and Management) on 14th and 15th 1October,2011.The product selected for the event is the autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi-"My Experiments With Truth". Through this product, Munna Bhai MBA aims at serving dual purpose of creating additional awareness about Gandhian values and philosophy in the society, and giving exposure to management students on the real "mandi" which they intend to enter in near future .The event would witness participants coming onto streets, localities & Harbour-line railway stations as their platform to try their hand at selling the popular autobiography.
ITM intends to serve to the noble cause initiated by Mandi. Munna Bhai MBA is just the stepping stone and by this the institute stipulates that it shall continue the legacy hereafter.
