The average score for GMAT hovers around 700+ for Indians. I think 680 is a bit low for a scholarship because it depends on how far your scores have gone from the average.

But, if you have got other credibility that helps you stand apart you might get a good deal.

Broad offers specialization in the following areas - supply chain management, finance, hr and marketing. If you are really looking for a career in operations, you can always leverage your supply chain profile.

Indians are heavily represented more than 50% of the international students admitted are Indians.

The admission process is same like any other program. As you are done with your GMAT, focus on your application essays now. They must clearly portray you as a competitive individual who knows why he wants to be at Broad. Then do the same for your interviews.

Thanks for the initiative. I am also applying to MSU Broad Round 1. I am particularly enthralled by the supply chain management course at Eli Broad.
Can you please throw some light on the job prospects especially for the operations specialization at Broad ?
How many Indians do you have in your batch this year ?
Are Indians heavily represented in the Mba program?
Could you also throw some light on the application aspect part of the admission process ?

Given your GMAT score you have a strong chance of getting a scholarship+GA. Because, you will get the in-state waiver and a scholarship amount anyway, if you can do really well in the interview you can also hope for a GA.

The school is known industry wide for its curricula in supply chain management and so are the professors. I can say this from my own experience of listening about our reputation from various industry representatives. So, if you are really dedicated to a supply chain profession you will do well here.

Samir,

I had posted some questions in a previous reply. They should not be too different from the general ones :

- Why MBA? Why now? Why Broad?
- Career goals....long term as well as short term
- Leadership examples (most significant achievements)
- Weakness and failures
- What makes you unique?
- Voluntary activities

These are some questions that are a part of any B-school interview. Prepare for them and be coherent, also make sure that these match with your essays.

I can't really give you any contacts but if you have any specific SCM related query you can post it here. I will make sure that you get a response.

1) As a part of the curriculum you will get exposure to extremely diverse businesses. The exposure comes in form of class lectures, external speakers and supply chain treks.
2) I am not sure about partnerships, but you can definitely participate in case competitions those are great ways of enriching yourself.
3) For this part you should definitely research the broad school website. One that I know of is starting this week and is called the MBA FOOD FIGHT.

I have got an interview call for broad MBA program and i have scheduled it on 16th Nov. I would like to understand the unique aspects of broad MBA since u have been there for a while.

My Profile is as follows

GMAT : 700
Work Ex : Approx 6 Yrs in Procurement/ SCM for Oil/ Gas/ Power sector

Hello puys...

I had an interview on 16th... it was went nicely... n lasted for 45 mins
the interview was very warm and encouraging...

the interview started very informally...wherein she asked abt how was my day.. n appreciated that i stayed late for d interview


later she asked me general questions such as
1) introduce urself
2) career goals, y mba, y msu
3) smthing unique abt me
4) examples of my ability to resolve conflicts n ability to take initiatives
5) asked abt a group, Youth Enlightened for Society, i was associated with..
6) asked abt my current job responsibilities
7) how i wud make a transition frm engineering fielt to scm
abt my long term career goal.. n my plan to realize it...
9) my hobbies... n how do i balance work n life..etc..etc

also she gave many useful information during d conversation...

I received an email from Paul North thanking me for participating in the evaluative interview.

The email states that "we promise to deliver an admission decision on or before the deadline"

That puts 15-Dec as the deadline..so i guess we will know in a few days time
