Hello,

I am Kumar and have done my engineering (bachelor's) from University of Liverpool, UK and currently in the non-mainstream job. Oh by the way - I am going to officially finish the program in coming 2 months.

I am looking forward to take entry in 2011 or 2012 into MSc Management (at several different universities in UK) or MMS at Duke University (Fuqua School of Business). Having studied in UK for 4 years I believe that I know in and out of the system and can interpret whether some claims made by universities are valid or marketing gimmick.

Also, I would encourage to use this thread as a place to discuss GMAT/TOEFL, admission essays and other stuffs related to the course.

I hope that we will be able to help each other and get success all together in our career plans.

Good luck to all of you.

Kumar

Hi,

MSc Management is a 1 year fast-track general management course which doesn't require any work experience (formal) and it is created to jump start your career in business. The course is believed to be a derivative of MBA i.e. the elements of the course has been derived from MBA and the modules you are able to study on MSc program will range from HR, Finance, Financial Accounting, General Management, New Venture Planning etc.

As I said earlier - its 1 year (10 months continuous) program and it has been appreciated by several big companies. It adds immense value to your profile.

The really good schools to pursue this course are:

1. London Business School - MiM
2. Lancaster University Management School - MSc Management
3. Imperial College London - MSc Management
4. University of Edinburgh Business School - MSc Management
5. Duke University, USA - MMS: Foundations of Business

Hope this helps.

Hello,

I am not sure whether your aim is getting a job in UK or getting a high quality education. Because once you go for high-quality education and develop your skills then I can honestly say that jobs will follow else even you study from Harvard - you won't be able to get sucked in the market.

It sounds like ''okay, everyone knows that..'' but unfortunately this is true. But if your aim is just to come here and do the job in anyway then this is not the best place for you. There are high risk of being unhappy at the end in your case.

Thanks,
Kumar

Hey Kumar!

any insight on Duke MMS program?
Since it is a very new course..What do u think the job prospects are?

Thanks

i m bsc graduate from mumbai university am i eligible for duke fuqua mms program

I have an admit for Msc Management from Cass. I was wondering whether the course is worth the time and money given the economic situation across Europe + new PSW policies. Though I have got +ve reviews about the course but I am still skeptical about the employability boost the course would provide. Also, any idea about the reputation of such a course back here in India -- do people find job-roles of ,say, Business Analyst, etc in India after such courses ?Moreover, I want to do an MBA eventually, so would doing an MSc Management be a right career move?

GMAT - 700
Work-ex - 2yrs by June 2012, Indian/IT/Male
Acads - average
Extra-curriculars - good

hi puys,

1) can you tell me what gud colleges are available for Msc in Management in Asian countries like Singapore???
2) how much package can we expect after completing this course??
3) what is the average GMAT score???

my profile:

1) IT professional with 2yrs of work exp
2) Expecting a GMAT score above 650
3) can only spare 12-18 months for my course :(

please guide me....

Hi Everybody,

I'll be applying to some of the UK universities - Lancaster, Bath, Glasgow to name a few.
I was wondering about the job prospects after this course?
All the other relevant info is on website except the aforementioned.

Can someone living in the UK tell us more about the job prospects, employer reputation about this course?

How much value does it add to one's profile?

Thanks 😃
