I have 4 year work ex in IT(non finance). I am looking for higher studies to switch my career to finance. I have cleared CFA level 2. I am in dilemma as to which programme should i go for .. MSc in finance or MBA. I am not interested in quant finance(mfe US) and aspire to go into equity research.
Some positive for MSc:
1) Low cost
2) 1 year in depth finance.
Some negative for Msc:
1) Good programmes are in europe whose economy is in slowdown
2) Since most of MSc prgrammes doesnt require work ex, i will be competing with freshers.
MBA: the problem with MBA is that my profile isnt good for top15 mba programs in US. isnt it good to keep an option of doing MBA later in life.
Need advice and suggestions to make my decision.
