Well I did apply (last week of jan) my app is still incomplete cause of my recommender, hes still to submit his reco.

My prof:
Work exp: 3.5 yrs IT (3 yrs infy, rest in kgisl)
GMAT: 650
TOEFL: 107
Acads: BE, IT, 75%
ECs: Good

So whts ur profile?
Have you applied elsewhere?

I applied in Dec...
My application status says "Application with committee" for almost a month...

2 yrs of work ex in telecom+VAS(sasken + Onmobile)
GMAT: 680
Acads: BE(Comp sc): 3.5/4
ECs: good

I havnt applied to anywher yet.
what do you say.. what are the chances for conversion??

At first glance ur profile looks very decent.
But on the flip side you have relatively less work exp.

I did quite a bit of research on the aussie mba and the b schools are divided into 2 categories:

1. Top ones which accept candidates with 4 - 5 + yrs of work exp (MBS, AGSM, Mquarie, Monash, etc)
2. Middle and low tier ones which accept candidates with 2 and 2 minus years of work exp (Swinburne, LaTroube, UWA, Curtin, etc).

My suggestion is dont go for the middle and low tier universities, even though they offer unique experiences, still going abroad for such an MBA doesnt make sense.

I hope you get admitted this year itself but if not so then you have a good chance next year.

I applied to the following schools for the 2nd deadline:

1. Smeal - pennsylvania
2. Concordia - Canada
3. York - Canada
4. St. Gallen - Swiss (Got a reject)

Does anyone of you have any idea about how much time MBS Admission committee take to come up with results?
On the completion of my application, i received mail from MBS that committee will took around 3-4 weeks. But now it's close to 4 weeks.

Any idea about the time limit.

Anyone of you heard from MBS admission committee?

Did you write to the adcom? For me it has been more than 4 weeks!

I too received a mail from Adcom saying they will let me know the status within 2-4 weeks.
Well for me its been only 1 week so i guess I will not be hearing from them any soon.
But wat about others?? Has any1 been admitted for MBS fro Sept 2008 yet??
Another query: How many Indian students will they take in a batch and whats the batch size???

Hi Amit,
I dont think that adcom have any restriction on "No. of Indian Students", but definitely they will look for good mix of students from various background.

Its been almost 4 weeks nw n am I yet to receive any reply from Adcom about my admission. Has any1 here heard anythin from MBS??

Hi Amit,

Its been almost three and a half weeks since i sent myapps.
Couple of days back I sent a mail to the adcom, below are the replies I received:

Dear Deepak,
I am no longer handling your application so I cannot tell you the status
other than it is still with Selection Committee.
Please contact Ms. Anne Reaney-Ludowyk if you have not heard back from
Melbourne Business School by Friday 14th March 2008. I can tell you that
it is not a negative thing for the Selection Committee to have
applications with them for a while so please do not panic. It is a
process the go through so they remain fair and thorough.
We will get back to you once an outcome is reached. Thank you for your
patience.

The Selection Committee will notify you of the outcome of your
application within 2-3 weeks of the application being received by the
Selection Committee. The Selection Committee has been inundated with

I have finally heard from ad comm.
Its a reject for me. They say that my work ex is low and they want me to reapply for sept 2010 batch.
