The package a person is getting is confidential........
At max these data can go to agencies (wich can be trusted to keep them confidential) like coolavenues........for collation of data and verifying details given by instis......Even XIMB gives out such details to them only........
These details remain within the knowledge of the batches in campus at time of the placements......dat is only current batch and junior batch come to know of it...........
Another thing........dont look at the time the students were placed in.......u cannot find the time on ur own...in which they were placed........
Every B School has a different process for placements........so wat applies at one place doesnt applies at another........
Don't look at average salaries............and for that matter median also.......
What is more important is the cos. coming......and whether they are taking u (i mean freshers mainly) as Management Trainees or Executive Trainees (i cadre lower than MTs)........
This is the only criterion at wich instis can be compared........
For eg. trust me.......MDI does not accept differential......nor does our insti (XIMB) nor does.......many other top instis......but there r instis.......wich have gud names.....but accept differential.......in one way or the other thru various info sources u can get to find it......

wipro which the press release highlights ,has paid 5 lakhs in IIM I and satyam has paid 4.5 at top bombay b schools so u sayin that wipro decided to come to mdi with a pak 1 lakh higher than ur iim counterparts same goes for satyam does satyam decide to pay u higher than iit b and on just because u have pretty lookin chicks ...oh come on(lowest sal 6 lakhs crap i know 2 ppl who have offers of less tan 5) total crap
now we know wat took u 3 days concocting stories takes time our dear old mdians believe putting crap here and we wud believe that , there is no mention of the highest pak ( only ITC pays 
and we have a b school which says there average is 8.3 with only one guy joining and all of ur IT guys(32%) have got salaries lower than 5.5 lakhs only hp 5.75 and ibm 6 r exceptions and these r real figures not out of guess work and maruti 4.5 i know ppl

The link which i gave for the article above was published on 18 feb,that means Indian Express got it on 17th obviously with official approval and yet we have ppl claiming that Figures have not been compiled????
It was ok in the beginning to give the benefit of doubt to MDI but not any longer...
Something sure stinks.....
I guess some people out here are totally biased against MDI - which can be proved by the following:-
FMS Placement Day - 15th Feb - Press Artcile - 18th Feb
MDI Placement Day - 16th Feb - Press Article - 18th Feb
IIM Indore Placement Day - 17th Feb - Press Article - Not yet released
So guys howcome MDI was late in announcing its placement details. I am not saying that FMS or IIM I are doing something wrong - rather i wanna clear that this happens across campuses. Official details take some time to be released.
We people are also human & for the kind information of the people smelling something fishy here - we all have our exams going on here - and the members of placement cell are also students like us (and they didn't studied b4 placements coz of preparations)!!!
Stop making this tread a place to vent out ur unwanted frustations....
It was just our love for PG that some of us (from MDI) announced our placements as soon as they happened & we didnt wait for official release. However for full details - official release was a must. No one of us know the full & exact details!!!!
Hope it settles some issues & stops the fingers of new born babies of this forum (read people who joined this forum just for MDI bashing & have 1 or 2 posts only)

The time frame is not that important, whether it is 4 hours or
6 and half hours , it doesnt matter.
I have a very simple question to all MDI students,
i heard that there were 133 students in the 2005 batch, and the
report says that 122 have been placed.
My question is what happened to those 11 students ???????
Whether they did not qualify for campus placement ???
And is there 100 % placement ????:wow: 
Or they couldnt get any company and MDI is hiding them ?????
Or am i missing something here, plz respond MDI guys.

Although some people withdrew from the placement process as they wanted to be become enterpreneurs... but most probably figure of 122 is a misprint. The strength of the placed batch was 131 and our batch is 122... i guess by some mistake the strength of ours batch has been printed.
I am sure that 100% people have been placed - coz i myself saw the last person being placed on day 1...
Thanx for pointing the mistake - will ask the concerned people to look into it or tell us the reason for this no.

Include few more companies like birlasoft, Infy and Patni and u get a bunch of companies paying around 5 lakhs....actually less than 5.1LPA... details of highest salary figures are also missing meaning more doubts about this average salary figures.
Considering only the names of 'few' companies in placement report it looks like average salary was close to 6.4 which up to my knowledge is extremely good.
56 companies that lined up for the 2005 placements included corporate big shots like Wipro, American Express, Deutsche Bank, IDBI, TCS, HDFC, HSBC and J P Morgan
HSBC visiting the MDI campus..... Boss looks like u haven't been informed by other top colleges that HSBC doesn't visit campuses for final placements. Last year in One of the IIM's the job was offered only through PPO. And indeed if at all it has visited ur Esteemed college then plz don't put "MDI doesn't Accepts Differential" tag everytime you reply or post placement details. Going for a second rung job in the same Company indeed constitute a Differential.
Its quite the same as some college claims McKinsey Comes there but actually it is Mckinsey KC

With The press article on 18 feb which must have been after the official release(correct me if i am wrong here), could you now provide us with the full and exact details .Or at least about the companies which offered more than the average salary at mdi.
talking about HSBC, it visits the top 5 or 6 colleges, but it is HSBC AMC(asset management company) which is visiting many campuses like MDI, SIBM, XIM-B this year to recruit at a CTC of 7.14 lacs. but wipro is correctly pointed at paying 5 lacs to freshers at IIM-I and other top 14 b schools...no differentials.....does GSK recruit from MDI??? it is one of the topmost paymasters with it offering 8.02 lacs across all campuses including ours at SIBM where they picked up 4 students.....please mandevian, give us the names of some companies which pay you more than your average of 8.3 lacs....i, myself had an offer from HDFC bank as a management trainee....and they had an all india brochure for MTs where they specifically stated 4.75 as their CTC at any campus.

There's nothing wrong in canvassing for their college but misleading the prospective students by providing the wrong facts and maligning other colleges is completely unacceptable.

The truth is no college mentions its HSBC AMC and not HSBC bank because the salary differential between these two are more than 6 lakhs. Try looking for this same company at other Top colleges and you will not find it becoz the moment Institute Agrees for HSBC AMC to come for recruitment its almost certain HSBC bank will never turn for campus.
Few things missing...
HSBC => is HSBC(AMC) India
DB => is DB India
JP Morgan => is JP Morgan India....
THe international branches of all three visit only the IIMs. All the above 3 are called in the slot in which indian companies are claeed in IIMs

and u have got some vry creative ppl.but i thnk its clr from this thrd tht some ppl somehow r really pissed off abt u guyz.
but u knw this is a good sign. whn the B skool ranks came out and mdi surpassed iimc it was fun . i was chattin with a C guy and he was really amused. now tht i would say is not good , cause anger which leads to amusement wud ultimately lead to ignorance.so guyz dont tk it so far tht ppl wud start ignoring ur reports.(this is not to say tht i doubt thier authenticity u knw)
btw there was some one called uttiya dey in this final yr batch of mdi

i will bring a few facts for mdians or whtever they call themselves , first how come u coated lowest sal to be 6L when infy gave 5.08 on its top institutes and also at urs , tcs gave across campuses 5.5L which was an increases from 4.5L since in iimb no one wanted to sit , so u mean to say at iimb they gave 5.5L and at ur place 6+.
aslo u guys said 'finished in 4hrs" while companies like BNP paribas and ge were there in ur week 0 and if u stared on 15th feb how come infy,wipro,pfcl etc weere picking on 16th.
yar the same set of companies came to ur campus pfcl,infy,wipro,HSBC AMC (not hsbc , and dont lie again amc came not the bank) , bus some how ur insty managed avg of 8+.

I have been following this thread curiously for the past couple of days and only purpose this thread seems to solve is to take up space on PG. After 70 some posts their is still no clear information about the the placements and only more and doubts and questions are being raised.
So any MDI guys reading this posts can you come out with the details of the placements .I am not asking for the complete list just give me name of some companies which offered more then the average salary and if possible the numbers of offer they made and what the packages were like.
If you cannot do that do not blame me if doubts begin to creep
