DFS having MFC course and MBE both started taking CAT score from last year... I have least idea about the cut off for MFC. For MBE, the cut-off was in the range of 88-90%ile for the last year... However, it may rise this year as it started taking CAT score for the first time last year... Yes, you are eligible for MFC... Average package can be seen from our website Master of Business Economics | Home There is no reservation in case of DU and Non DU students... We have a good mixture of students from all part of the country...

Well I am in no position whatsoever to comment on the cut off's for MFC last year . However , here at MBE the average CAT percentile of General Category students is in the range of 90 to 95 , with the highest CAT Percentile being 99.54 . With this being the 2nd year of MBE taking CAT Scores the cut off's are fixed at a minimum of 90 percentile . However , a score of about 93 percentile should fetch you atleast a call .

Guys pour in your queries about MBE we would be happy to help you

For those of you who are skeptical enough to consider MBE as their career option .Then look at the placement stats and the overall ROI that this course offers

and above all the DU tag is the enough in itself

Are engineers eligible for MBE as in the previous posts it was mention (10+2+3) ?

Apart from that 2.5% weightage to other degrees.....is there any discrimination done with engineers ?

One personal ques too..... Can engineer sustain in that course ?

Hi,
Thanks for opening the thread. Here go my queries :-

Can you shed some light on the kind of companies that visit MBE for Final and Summer Placements and elaborate on the profiles offered by them?

Also I've heard that batches of both, DFS and MBE comprise of mainly Commerce stream student that too from DU. Is that true? Also can you share the strength of the current MBE batch?

Thanks in Advance.

Yes, engineers are eligible.
No other discrimination is done. A very large portion of our batch is made up of engineers.
They do way more than merely sustain. Most of them thrive here.

Moderators are requested to move this thread to the "CAT and Related Discussions" section.

Well Manisha , as far as the companies visiting campus for recruitment purposes are concerned , we manage to attract a large variety of companies - from all sectors be it FMCG'S ,Manufacturing giants , Banking Corporations , Consultancy firms for both Summer Internships and for Final Placements . The kind of profiles offered varies a lot - Having a relatively small batch , our USP is that the student is placed in an organisation for a profile of his/her choice . Business Analytics and Market Research is however our core competency area from which we are able to attract the maximum number of companies . However for more information on the placement figures and for the companies visiting campus , do go through our website - Master of Business Economics | Home

Well I am totally clueless about the number of commerce students at MFC , however here at MBE we have an extremely varied batch . The current batch consists of about close to 50% students from the Commerce background , infact here at MBE we have students doing there MBE after their MBA and MTech's , so it is totally a MYTH that the batch at MBE is dominated by Commerce students .
I hope I answered both your questions , All the best for CAT 2011

Hiii.. I read the criteria of selection.

I could not understand why in the form the institute is asking for work experience, if it does not have any weightage.

thanks alot for asking your query first mate

well answering your first question engineers are very much eligible for the course .considering that the onus is towards analytics and economics the engineers are natural choice for their good analytical abilities.Infact in our batch and our seniors engineers are well above 50% so dont have any doubt regarding non acceptance of engineers
regarding your second question there is no discrimination as such towards engineers basically what the faculty members have the idea is that the concepts and twist and turns would be better understandable by person having previous background of economics but consider this also in seniors and in previous batches engineers were the toppers(this was in reply to the question that can engineers can sustain the course?) take care mate bbye

this is a mandatory requirement as far as the form is concerned as it was the criteria that the faculty members decided
moreover if its not imp then y to worry for freshers u can leave it balnk and be happy

It is simple formality dude, if you don't have work ex. you just need to leave it blank. Apart from that, here at MBE obviously there is no explicit weight age to this, but we lot many with them in batch...

So, it is obvious that it helps to gain score in interview but we have large chunk of freshers too, just don't worry so much, with or without experience you qualify to apply. Just do your best.

And a 'TAKE AWAY' for you, more experienced batch fetch better placements. And ours is an aspiring institute like any other. So, it is always good to have experienced people in batch although there may be no weight age. So, there you go

Hi Seniors,

I have two questions..

both MFC and MBE have separate GD/PI sessions both issue their respective dates. The panelists would be also be different. Its basically that both the departments initiate their processes individually and independently

regarding the your second question its already been answered in previous posts
