1) i happen to hear the job experience plays a role in MBA that only those with job experience can be successful with an MBA. is there such a thing that a fresher cant do well in an MBA course?

2) how does an experience in an IT/ core field help me do well in the MBA course? btw i'm BTech ECE graduate.

Its is not necessary to have work experience to pursue MBA.But having said that if you take work experience your chances of getting in a Premier Business School increases and once you are in you will be able to connect better to the concepts, as you will already have work experience. You will be able to visualise better and grasp better.

Best of Luck

My pleasure!!
@amitpradipsonth another doubt yaar... if i go to the IT field, they are hiring the Btech grads for system associates or programmers.. so i will be only dealing with the programming level nah. so how could this help in understanding the management level while doing MBA. i'm confused buddy. pls help

hi..I am 2012 graduate in B.tech(I.T).I have joined my father's business and Iam working with him.now i plan to take cat 2013.will my experience taken into account?will i be able to get into some good b-school???

i have a similar kind of doubt, i graduated in 2012 in IT. and joined an MNC in november but due to health reasons and also due to very hectic schedule i am thinking of quitting now. It will be like 5 months of work-ex and after this i am planning to take up a teaching job in an engg colg. I want to appear for CAT'13. what are my chances..will all dis quitting after 5 mnths n taking up a teaching job aafect my profile n eventually my chances ?
plz help me...!!

I AM PURUSING MBA WITHOUT ANY SUCH EXPERIENCE. ITS NOT NECESSARY TO DO IT DELICATELY

I am also working in IT company in web development for 6 months.I am preparing CAT 2013

And now quitting my job because of hectic schedule, low income and the very face that coding programs is not gonna help in MBA. So will try to find some work in other sector.

Can teaching be considered as work ex??

I recently read an article in the times of india that companies are looking for non tech graduates too for managerial jobs as opposed to the trend. The difference lies in the compensation. So the competition is going to increase as both of the streams are going to fight for the same job. However till now these companies are finding it difficult to find eligible non tech graduates. On the whole, experience does give you an edge over others, but is not advisable to leave the job for mba if you are already earning a decent salary.

Your job experience is required for you to know about the on job dynamics and get valuable industry exposure. Ofcourse you could clear your exams but you would not be able to correlate your education and real world. The most important aspect of an MBA experience is working in teams and learning people management. Unless you haven't worked in teams, it would be difficult for you to take lessons out of it.

Your leadership experience at work would substantially help in enhancing your MBA experience, and would also help to get a foot in the door for a post MBA job.

Hope this helps..😃

Hello guys, i have completed my graduation in 2012. after that i took a gap pf 1 year to prepare for mba. but i did not get very good results. i am thinking of repeating again, without work experience but i am in confusion because as my profile is not flattering, what chances do i have?? i have heard people saying that with gap of 2years, no good college accepts. in cat 2012 my percentile was 74. 95 in english and lr, 40 in quantz and di. should i take the exam again in 2013 or drop the idea of doing mba. plz help.

Out of 100 MBA Graduates in 2013, how many graduates are getting placed from college placement ? what is placement percentage in 2013 ?

@reddy780 Dear reddy780, You should take CAT and get a better job two years from now. Being an IIM grad, I could tell you that jobs post-IIMs are good..spcially if u graduated from top ones. If Ericsson is where you see your future in long run then go ahead and Join. At this pint in time u must decide which field you want to get into and make a decision accordingly.
