This thread is to guide students with regards to preparation and guidance of MBA CET exam to be held in Feb 2014. For students aiming for colleges like JBIMS, Sydenham, Somaiya, Welingkar, etc.
The paper is of 200 marks with a jumbled paper pattern i.e. no proper sections. So the strategy to write the exam becomes extremely important.
I hope to help you and guide you with regards to your preparation for the exam.
My background:
CET Rank 1 in CET 11/12
DTE GDPI panelist
Guest / Visiting Faculty at some top college like JBIMS / S P Jain Institute of Mgmt Studies
All the best and let us start preparing for the exam.
It is advantage for students who are good at Verbal and Logic. but students who are aiming for Bajaj, cannot keep any section as weak section. The need to be strong in all areas. So students aiming for JBIMS, focus on your weak areas. For others, they can focus on strong areas and get enough marks to get into the top 5 colleges.
@PatrickDsouza Sir, Please answer my qqueries 1) I found Critical Reasoning & Comprehension more challenging. how shall i prepare for them ? 2) Best books for CET MCQ's practice ? 3) I have R.S.Agrawal Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning book. will preparing visual Reasoning section from it sufficient and relevant for CET.? 4) How to prepare for CMAT GK, as I found Sep. CMAT GK very hard even though prepared current affairs of last 4-5 months well ?
1. I have completed my engineering from MIT, Pune. So I would fall in Other Than Home University. Since I am an Open Candidate, so will I compete for 9 seats only or for 38+9?
2. I am not in favour of giving FEB CMAT because it won't help for admission as CET has superseded it. So should I think of giving FEB CMAT?
3. JBIMS has 120 CAP seats out of which 102 are Maharashtra Seats. Is it so that out of 102 seats 85% will be filled from CET or from 120?
The Maharashtra government is contemplating to abolish group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI) rounds for admission into B-schools in the state this year. In that case, admissions will be based on scores in MAH-CET or in any other national test. Reason: too many seats and too few...
as per preference to maharashtra students for JBIMS .. can anyone give the exact no of seat allocation for mah/ non mah students? and is the preference for students of maharashtra domicile or mumbai university ? kindly help.
Hello, I have read that CL tests are good for MBA-CET, Can anyone give me a link that would take me to buying the test series? I am not able to find anything. Thanks in anticipation.
@PatrickDsouza Thanks for starting link.😃 Could you please tell, whether we have to fill the separate form for colleges under CET and then give them score or we will directly be eligible after filling dte form?
@PatrickDsouza i am able to solve almost all types of questions with good accuracy. but i need to increase my number of attempts. can u please suggest ways to improve my speed?? TIA
