13 LPU Students Set to Represent India at FISU World University Games 2025 in Germany

LPU athletes will compete across seven sporting categories including athletics, archery, taekwondo, judo, fencing, rowing, and badminton.
All the athletes come from diverse academic programs, reflecting the inclusive and multidisciplinary culture at LPU

In a moment that resonates with immense pride not just for LPU but for the entire nation, thirteen LPU athletes have earned the honour of representing India at the prestigious FISU World University Games 2025 in Germany. This significant event will see around 8,500+ student-athletes and officials from over 150+ countries competing across 18+ different sports, making it one of the largest multi-sport events globally this year.

The selected LPU athletes, coming from diverse academic programs will compete across seven sporting categories, demonstrating the university’s strong presence in athletics, archery, taekwondo, judo, fencing, rowing, and badminton. Abhishek, Abhimanyu, and Pooja will represent India in athletics, while Mrinal Chauhan will compete in archery. Satvinder has been chosen for taekwondo, Khaidem Taibanganbi Chanu for judo, and Sameja Khushi Ishwarbhai for fencing. The rowing team comprises Mohit Kumar, Diksha, Pavitra, Pooja, and Rahul, and Rajul Saini will participate in badminton.

Lovely Professional University inaugurated a 12-day Refresher Course on “Development of e-Content and MOOCs” organized by HRDC in collaboration with UGC-MMTTC. The program featured expert sessions on technology’s role in higher education and digital transformation. Eminent Subject Matter Experts, including Prof. Ved Prakash, Former Chairman of UGC and Prof. A.K. In a significant step toward strengthening school–university collaboration and advancing leadership in education, Lovely Professional University (LPU), in association with the Department of Skill Education, CBSE, New Delhi, hosted the Edu-Leaders Conclave. The event was part of CBSE’s nationwide Exposure Visit initiative for school principals.

The two-day conclave welcomed 40+ principals from leading CBSE-affiliated schools across India, including those from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Jammu, Calicut, and other regions. Designed to provide meaningful insights into the evolving landscape of higher education, the conclave served as a platform for exchanging ideas and exploring opportunities for academic alignment and innovation.

At the inaugural ceremony, providing strategic direction to the conclave, Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director, Department of Skill Education, CBSE, joined the event virtually. Dr. Saha applauded LPU for facilitating the exposure visit and stressed the importance of such engagements in integrating skill education within school curricula. “This is a timely initiative aligned with the vision of NEP, helping schools chart a more holistic and future-oriented academic roadmap,” Dr. Saha noted.
