The IGC MUN 2.0 featured five dynamic committees: The All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), and the International Press. These committees effectively simulated real-world diplomatic processes, allowing delegates to take on the roles of world leaders and policymakers. The conference’s engaging and intensive deliberations enabled them to tackle critical global issues through negotiation and dialogue, mimicking the complexities of international diplomacy.

During the event, participants explored a range of pertinent issues, such as the Waqf Amendment Bill, 2024, examining its potential benefits, challenges, and social implications. They also delved into the cyber-biological nexus, focusing on preventing the weaponization of emerging technologies in nuclear and biological systems. In addition, discussions centered around the weaponization of technologies like AI, drones, and cyber warfare in the context of global conflicts and international law.

The conference culminated in a valedictory ceremony, celebrating the outstanding achievements of participants. Awards for excellence in debating, negotiation, and leadership were presented, with Kishan Mohan (LPU) winning Best Delegate (UNGA), Daniella Esther (LPU) winning Best Delegate (UNSC), Rakshit Pathak (Oriental University) receiving Best Delegate (AIPPM), and Swastika Shree (LPU) being awarded Best Delegate (IAEA). The participants were judged based on the insightful deliberations of the distinguished members of the Executive Board—Adv. Md. Shadique, Akshat Pratap Singh, Baljinder Singh, Sneha Rawat, Anjali Kadyan, Maanya, and Zishan Shaikh—each bringing their expertise in international affairs and diplomacy to the discussions.

Col. 6th Gavelled National Moot Court Competition at LPU Concludes with Champions Taking Home ₹51,000 Cash Prize!

The 6th Gavelled National Moot Court Competition, hosted by the LPU School of Law, wrapped up after an exhilarating three-day event, drawing massive participation from across India. A total of 66 teams from 19 states, including six National Law Universities (NLUs), 15 Central and State Universities, and 35 Private Universities, competed, showcasing their advocacy prowess on a national stage.

The competition kicked off with an inauguration by Justice Rajive Bhalla (Retd.) of the Punjab & Haryana High Court, setting the tone for intense legal debates. The moot problem tackled pressing issues such as caste-based discrimination, the admissibility of digital evidence, and mob justice within the framework of the new criminal code.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, MP (Rajya Sabha) & LPU’s Founder Chancellor, emphasized the value of experiential learning, stating, “Practical exposure in legal education is crucial,” and underscored the role of moot courts, internships, and interactions with legal professionals in shaping skilled advocates.

The event unfolded across multiple stages: the preliminary rounds saw 66 teams battling it out in 33 courtrooms, evaluated by advocates from High Courts and district courts. The top 16 teams progressed to the quarterfinals and semifinals, where they faced scrutiny from senior advocates. The grand finale, presided over by Justice Virender Singh, former Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, crowned Team TC-23 from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonipat, Haryana, as champions, who took home a cash prize of ₹51,000.

The competition concluded with a vibrant gala night, celebrating the participants and fostering connections among the next generation of legal minds.

Lovely Professional University (LPU) made history by becoming the overall champion at the 38th Inter-University National Youth Festival, organized under the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). LPU won the prestigious AIU Trophy for the second consecutive year, outshining all the Indian universities and institutions. The three-day festival saw over 2,400+ students from more than 148 universities across India competing in 28 different events.

LPU claimed the top spot by winning first place in the Theatre and Cultural Procession categories, while securing the Overall Runner-Up position in the Music, Literary, and Fine Arts categories, solidifying its dominance across a range of artistic disciplines. The university’s students delivered stellar performances across various categories, earning a total of 18 medals. LPU Student’s Revolutionary Start-Up Secures Rs 1.70 Crore Boost from Google Cloud, and about to raise $3 Million in Seed Funding

Rounak Adhikary, a tech-oriented BSc Design student at Lovely Professional University (LPU), is making waves in the field of technological innovation. As the Founder and CEO of ‘ProjectX.Cloud,’ Rounak has developed a groundbreaking cloud-based operating system aimed at eradicating hardware dependency across devices.

Rounak’s visionary project has recently received a significant boost with an infusion of $200,000 (approximately 1.70 Crore INR) in infrastructure support from Google Cloud. This generous support not only highlights the tremendous technological potential of ‘ProjectX.Cloud’ but also marks a crucial milestone in its growth trajectory, enabling enhanced development and scalability of its innovative cloud-based solution.

To add to the project’s impressive achievements, Rounak is also about to secure a remarkable seed funding of 3 Million dollars (Approx. 24 Crore INR), signifying the strong investor interest in his venture.

The recognition for Rounak’s groundbreaking work started with grants from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and the Ministry of Electronics and IT, amounting to Rs. 10 lakh. In addition to these grants, he has also been honoured with awards from the Microsoft Founder’s Program and AWS Activate Founder’s Program, totalling more than Rs. 50 lakhs in funding.

LPU Alumni Dheerendra Singh Honoured as Best Speaker at Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025, New Delhi

The two-day National Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament Festival 2025, held in New Delhi, witnessed a remarkable display of intellect, oratory, and vision for India’s future. Among 75,000 participants from 300 districts, Dheerendra Singh, an alumnus of Lovely Professional University (LPU), was awarded Best Speaker, securing his place among the top 105 finalists who took center stage at the Parliament of India.

To achieve this prestigious feat, Dheerendra competed against 2,400 speakers at the Nodal District Round before advancing to the State-Level Round at the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha in Lucknow. There, he impressed both the jury and the audience, securing the first prize among 240 state-level participants, which ultimately earned him the opportunity to represent the state at the national level. Renowned Indian film actor and director Rakesh Bedi took center stage at Lovely Professional University (LPU) for a spellbinding one-man performance of the critically acclaimed play ‘Massage’, presented by Prarik Arts Theatre. A satirical yet soul-stirring narrative penned by legendary playwright Vijay Tendulkar is a compelling blend of humour, drama, and social commentary.

For two hours, Bedi captivated the audience by seamlessly transitioning into 24 distinct characters, each brought to life with remarkable nuance and expression. The play chronicled the journey of Happy Kumar, a man aspiring to make it big in the film industry, only to find himself working as the fourth assistant director to a filmmaker specializing in sleazy cinema. Through Kumar’s experiences, the audience was taken on a poignant exploration of the darker corners of society, all told with Bedi’s signature with and emotional depth.

The event was graced by the presence of Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor of LPU, and Er. H.R. Singla, Director General of LPU. As per the Intellectual Property India Annual Report released by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs, and Trademarks, Government of India, LPU filed an impressive 1,418 patents, surpassing collective filings of institutions like the IITs (1,106 patents) and NITs (417 patents).

A dynamic celebration of creativity and communication unfolded at Lovely Professional University (LPU) with the inauguration of Xpressions 2025, the annual media fest organized by the School of Liberal and Creative Arts (Journalism). The grand event was inaugurated by renowned Bollywood actor Sanjay Mishra and drew over 4,000 enthusiastic students from 40+ universities across India.

With more than 400 students actively participating in events like the Media Quiz, Film Screening, Photography, Short Film, RJ Hunt, Anchor Hunt, Ad-Mad Show, and Reels Competition, the fest became a platform to showcase some of the finest creative and journalistic talents from across the country.
Sanjay Mishra, celebrated for his distinctive and impactful roles in Indian cinema, engaged the audience with a candid and inspiring address. Sharing his personal journey from Bihar to Bollywood, he emphasized the value of resilience, creative freedom, and the pursuit of knowledge. A meritorious MA (History) student, Yatin Bhaskar Duggal of Lovely Professional University (LPU) has achieved a remarkable feat by winning prestigious first prize at the National Youth Parliament Festival (2024) held at Central Hall of the Indian Parliament in New Delhi. Yatin’s exceptional performance captivated the attention of eminent political personalities, including the 17th and current Speaker of the Lok Sabha Shri Om Birla and Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, Shri Anurag Thakur.

Outshining 86 other competitors from different states across the country, Yatin showcased an impeccable understanding of parliamentary proceedings, bringing immense pride not only to LPU but also to the state represented and the entire student community of LPU. As a testament to his outstanding achievement, Yatin has been awarded a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh. Eighty-seven state-level winners, representing the first, second, and third prize winners from each state and union territory, had gathered in New Delhi for the finals of the Youth Parliament. It is worth mentioning that this Youth Parliament was organized at three levels, covering a staggering 785 districts across the country. The participants who emerged victorious at the district level progressed to compete in the State Youth Parliament (SYP). Vaishna Pitchai from Tamil Nadu secured the second prize, while Kanishka Sharma from Rajasthan claimed the third prize.

The National Youth Parliament, organized annually by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and National Service Scheme (NSS), plays a vital role in strengthening the foundations of democracy. The event brought together 200+ top student representatives from more than 30+ universities across India. Representing LPU were Vidushi Singh as Prime Minister, Swastika Shree B as President, and Diya Tomar as Whip. At the flagship event Pitch Perfect, LPU students clinched the winner’s award with a scalable, tech-driven startup idea that skillfully merged innovation with real-world impact. In the Sky Break model rocket competition, LPU teams soared to victory, securing both the winner and 1st runner-up titles by presenting aerodynamically optimized rockets with precision tracking capabilities. Continuing their winning streak, LPU dominated surface boat racing, taking the top two positions with advanced autonomous and remote-controlled watercraft designed for lightweight efficiency and energy conservation.

In the Wall Maze Solver robotics challenge, LPU teams swept the podium, capturing all top three positions with bots equipped with intelligent navigation algorithms and high-precision sensors. The university also triumphed in Robo Soccer, where their agile, AI-powered robots delivered thrilling gameplay to win both Winner and 1st Runner-Up titles. Finally, in RC MC Mania, a high-speed remote-controlled car race, LPU racers claimed all three top spots with durable, high-performance machines engineered for extreme agility and control.

A Symphony of Cultures Unfolded on Day Two of LPU’s One India & One World 2025

Echoes of traditional beats, folk melodies, and joyous celebrations marked Day Two of Lovely Professional University’s (LPU) iconic cultural extravaganz One India & One World 2025. The ongoing three-day event, held at LPU’s Unipolis Auditorium, united together over 40,000 students from across the university in a grand showcase of cultural richness, unity, and global harmony.

Different schools of the university represented various Indian states and countries through their dedicated exhibition stalls. These stalls transcended mere displays, becoming immersive cultural experiences featuring regional emblems, traditional cuisine, handcrafted artifacts, spiritual icons, temples, women’s handicrafts, and symbolic animals. Students dressed in traditional attire some even embodying cultural deities showcased a vibrant array of festivals, rituals, songs, and dances. As part of LPU’s EduRevolution initiative, students also sold self-made regional souvenirs and products, promoting entrepreneurial spirit alongside cultural pride.

LPU Hosted workshop for 2000+ medical lab professionals

A mega medical workshop brought together over 2,000+ healthcare laboratory professionals and representatives from more than 30 companies at the Lovely Professional University (LPU) campus. The workshop, themed “Decoding Diseases: Insights from Microscopic Examination,” was organized by LPU’s Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences (School of Allied Medical Sciences) and the Human Resource Development Center, in collaboration with the Joint Association of Independent Medical Laboratory and Allied Professionals (JAIMLAP).

The workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. Aman Arora, Cabinet Minister. Mr. Arora emphasized the government’s commitment to good governance and praised medical laboratory practitioners for their vital service to society. Mr. Arora also highlighted a key announcement from the recent Punjab budget, under which each family in Punjab will now receive ₹10 lakh per year in medical coverage, strengthening the state’s healthcare system and supporting healthcare professionals. Mr. Arora further recognized the contributions of JAIMLAP’s State President, Sh. Jagdeep S. Bhardwaj, and National General Secretary, Sh. Rajan Bector, for their leadership in the sector. Mr. Arora also commended Lovely Professional University for its role in promoting diversity, inclusivity, higher education, and employment opportunities.
