DO YOU THINK FRESHERS AND THOSE FROM NON-TECHNICAL, NON-COMMERCIAL BACKGROUND WILL BE FACING SOME PROBLEMS UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPTS??!?
2.)UNLIKE OTHER MBA COURSES, MBA AT SITM DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY INDUSTRIAL TRAINING IN 4TH SEM! DO THEY PROVIDE TRAINING IN B/W THE COURSE??
3.)WE WILL BE HAVING OUR SENIORS AT LAVALE CAMPUS OR WE WUD BE THE FIRST ONES??

Dont worry about anything. You have asked lot of questions. I will answer them and those who have similar doubts can get a clue from this.
1> The MBA program deals with some technical subjects, some finance subjects and others are totally different. Other subjects don't favour any background. No one of you will be best at everything. You will have to do group study for subjects alien to you. The faculty is very considerae and they dont impose a high level of difficulty initially. So relax.. But if you wish you can brush up on any subject you feel tough before joining. Otherwise there wont be much of a problem. But remember MBA schedule is hectic so prepare yourself for long working hours and handling stress.
2> SITM does have summer internships after 1st year, where you will be selected for internships with companies. There you will learn what is required. Also UNLIKE, any other MBA programs, SITM has the maximum number of Research Projects where you will be exposed to lot of learning. And there are industry visits also. You will have abundant industry knowledge through other channels also. So just be patient untill you really get to know what is SITM.
3>Both senors and juniors will be there at Lavale campus.
4 and 5> This is too early to discuss your job profiles. Though rest assured that you will be joining a great institution. And you will have great opportunities in India and abroad, but that of course will depend on your efforts.
I understand that all of you will be very excited to know about SITM and the activities here. But, Seniors are having exams now and wont be available to answer your queries till this month end. For now, just relax and focus on other current work or study you are engaged in. We will be here if you have any real issues. Some things you will get to know gradually only and its best that it remains that way..
INFERNO AT SYMBIOSIS INSTITUTE OF TELECOM MANAGEMENT
SITM, Pune organized a rock concert at their Lavale campus, on the 17th of September, 08, the first event on the new campus! Christened Inferno 08, the concert saw major Indian rock bands performing at the venue. Lavale campus hosts three Symbiosis institutes namely SITM, SIBM and SIMC and a huge crowd of enthusiastic youngsters could be seen.
The concert started off with Hourglass. A band formed by five enthusiastic youngsters Nikhil, the vocalist, Amit on leads, Sagnik on rhythm guitar, bassist Shirish, and beats of drums by Himanshu, made the crowds rock and roll to their music. They mostly played covers, including Californication by Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Knockin on Heavens Door by Guns n Roses, and Paranoid by Ozzy Osbourne. They ended their show by a great rendition of Vande Mataram which had the entire crowd swaying to their beats. Soaring vocals combined with great beats had the crowd asking for more.
Next came the heavy metal band Vyzasa. The band comprises of 5 members- Aman on vocals, Rajeev on bass guitar, Nitin on Drums, Manish on Rhythm guitar and Harshad on Leads. Armed with their pulsating heavy metal riffs, they proved that everybody can enjoy their kind of music. This band performed a mix of their original compositions as well as covers. They immaculately covered bands like The Gates,Arch Enemy and Death. The overall sound of the band was superb taking into considerations the perfect harmony of double bass drums, heavy bass riffs and baritone vocals. All in all theirs was a great performance and an amazing treat for fans of the heavy metal genre.
Next came the headliners for the evening, the winners of I-Rock 08, the band SILVER. They were the National winners of Yamaha Roxx 2008, represented India in Taiwan at the Asian Beat 2008 and enthralled audiences at JRO 2008 (Chennai). Silver comprises of 4 members Mahesh on vocals, Rishi on bass, Savio on leads, and Amit on drums. Silver came up with an entire list of all original compositions. With their amazing ethereal melodies and resonant tone combined with their hard rock influences, they really made it a heady listening experience. They rocked the show starting with Wine and Women, followed by Silver Kiss, Feel the heat, and a perfect hard rock original, Desire. Silver, with their enthralling performances, involved the audiences in each and every song. The crowd was following vocalist Maheshs every move and complimented by joining him in the songs. Along with him, bassist Rishi, drummer Amit and lead guitarist Savio kept the audiences grooving with their respective enthralling solos. Every member of the band stood out in their own brilliant way and ended their set list with a popular crowd friendly track Funkie Junkie.
The event was a huge success with the crowd being treated to various genres of rock music. It was one of the very few events to have an equal number of covers as well as originals. Generously supported by Idea and Spykar, the evening left the entire audiences of Symbiosis Lavale campus asking for more.
