Hey puys!
Well i had given the exam for SRCC GBO 2010, and i dont know whether i would be getting a call or not, but then what i wanted to know is that, how good is SRCC for doing an MBA equivalent degree (GBO)from? we all know SRCC is THE BEST for a B.Com degree(Undergraduation), but does is it a good idea to look upto SRCC for the PG degree too?
Also i havent got any idea abt the placement from that college, tried to find out on the forum but was unable to ,
Do help me if someone can!
Finally into MBA...he he

It has been almost a month now in SRCC GBO and I have fallen in love with the college. Everything about SRCC is special in its own way. I went to SRCC for the first time in June last year to get my younger sister enrolled in the B.Com (H) course. I had heard so much about the college, considered to be the mecca of commerce education in India, and was in awe of it the moment I entered the college gates. Only God knows how badly I wanted to be a part of this great institution. But little did I know that I would be walking with pride in the same corridors the very next year.
Our batch is a heterogeneous mix of students from different educational backgrounds: ranging from chemistry, biotechnology, zoology to even hotel management. And, of course, there are the quintessential engineers. Our day begins at 9.35 and ends at 4 with Sunday being the only off day. The best part about our college is its faculty base. Our teachers eat, sleep, drink and breathe knowledge, they are like walking encyclopedias The selection process for induction into various committees is over. We had our photo session for the placement brochure last week and I must say that all the guys and gals looked dapper in their business suits.
The photo session soon escalated onto a mass scale, with almost everyone with a camera in their hand clicking photos with the zeal and passion of a professional photographer. All in all, everyone had fun.
That's it for now. I shall come back and post again very soon.
After the toil and hard work of last week, the weekend turned out to be rather pleasant. A much needed extended break which provided some respite from the monotony of what is called the B-school life. The coming week promises to provide some real excitement as we are scheduled to hold our Annual HR SUMMIT on the 28th of August. Preparations for the same are in full swing and expectations are running high, especially since the last year's summit had proved to be a resounding success. The mid-term exams are just a month away and I find myself reading all types of books except for the ones that really matter. I seriously need to brace myself for the challenges that lie ahead. But I am sure I'll come out all guns blazing.
Had our Fresher's Party last Thursday which I, unfortunately, could not attend due to bad health.:-( But judging by the crystal clear pictures which my photographer batchmates had uploaded on Facebook, I am sure everyone had an awesome time at the party.
The placement brochure is due out sometime next week, but I and my batchmates had the good fortune of proof reading it beforehand. Actually, I was more anxious to see my picture in the batch profile section. I thought I looked pretty decent and was feeling so proud. Then I called my mother to have a look at it, which eventually turned out be a very bad decision on my part. Got a one hour lecture on how fat I looked in my pic and the urgency with which I needed to lose weight. Seriously? Did my mother think that I was living under the illusion that I looked like a model at 105 kgs?.
Adios for now, shall post again after the HR Summit.
Nothing tastes sweeter than success! I am sure the HR society guys must be finding this age old adage to be true to its core, especially after delivering a stupendously successful GBO ANNUAL HR SUMMIT 2010 yesterday. The whole of GBO is proud of this achievement.
The summit was held at the Russian Center for Science and Culture, Mandi House. The theme of the event was: "HR TRANSMUTATION: A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE" and the list of speakers included some prominent names from the private as well as the public sector companies. Amidst the great insights provided by the speakers on the challenges faced by HR managers and the constant need for them to change at a rapid rate, a few of the speakers chose to congratulate us on being a part of the great institution that SRCC is. I feel so honoured and proud to be a part of it.
This was the first time that I had the good fortune of listening to the views of industry experts, and I must say that I was quite impressed by a few of them. I look forward to the day when I would have the honour of addressing an eager audience as an eminent speaker.:cheerio:
The event also had its fair share of dull moments. After all, not everybody is an effective and energetic speaker. A few of the speakers chose to send the captive audience into a state of sleep induced coma. The audience, on their part, had no choice but to fight this deep urge to sleep and somehow keep their eyes open.
I hear that horses have the ability to sleep with their eyes open. It is at times like these that one wishes that he were a transmutating species-perhaps a crossover between a human and a horse.
Overall, a brilliant event. Oh, yeah, and the lunch was also very delicious. Once again, I have managed to throw my dietary plan off the track.
Yeah, it is always sweet when your efforts turn into success!!
Most of the addresses by HR heads across industries were excellent and so was the team work of student organizers.
The feasts at annual summits of SRCC has made me a big foodie too..
Looking forward to annual Marketing Summit next month
nice to hear abt mba at SRCC.......

Hi,
This is a thread meant for posting about the life at GBO and about its various activities. You can find these information by going through the following two threads-
http://www.pagalguy.com/discussions/srcc-gbo2010-12-admission-helpdesk-25044847
http://www.pagalguy.com/discussions/gboshri-ram-college-of-commerce-admission-helpdesk-2011-2013-25057877
If there is any further guery, please post it on the second thread, not on this one.
We had a guest lecture today by Mr. Maninder Singh, Head-Talent Development and Nurturing, Viom Networks Limited. He spoke at length to us on the need for talent retention in the corporate world. It was an interesting lecture and I must say that Mr. Singh surely knows a thing or two about ensuring maximum audience participation. A few students of my batch decided not to show up for the lecture despite being given several warnings not to do so. A spanking, however inappropriate, by our beloved principal sir seems to be the most likely punishment for the culprits.
We had our college elections last Friday which coincided with the much more publicized DUSU elections. Walked out of the University metro station to be welcomed by the maddening shouts of political activists campaigning for their respective candidates. Trust me on this, Delhi University turns into a crazy place during election time.:banghead:
Mid-term exams begin in two weeks' time and, to my credit, I have finished reading Michael Crichton's Congo. Now, I can finally give some love and care to my yet untouched course books.
It has been a really long time since I last posted on this thread. It was not because I was busy or something, just that I had developed a pretty bad writer's block.:banghead: During the last two months, GBOites have witnessed a lot of action. First, it was the Marketing Summit, which proved to be the most interesting event of the year, and then the Finance Summit, which provided some great insight into the big, bad and scary world of Finance. Throw in a few guest lectures and our schedule has been completely jampacked. And, yeah, the mid-semester exams also made an unpleasant appearance in between. Quite contrary to my earlier belief, I have managed to do reasonably well in these exams. Come November the 26th, and we'll be starting with our first semester exams. More from me later, keep watching this space.
Hi,
