Foundation Course in General Management (FCGM) #4 at BIMTECH Campus
Centre for Management Development & Consultancy (CMDC) at BIMTECH has organised its fourth 12 days’ residential program this FY 2018-19 on “Foundation Course in General Management” for middle-level executives at Vikramshila Leadership Centre.
The program was inaugurated on 7th January 2019 by the Chief Guest Mr R S Rathee, Regional Executive Director, NTPC (DBF & Hydro region) in the presence of Dr H. Chaturvedi, Director – BIMTECH, Mr. Ashok Swarup, General Manager- HR, NTPC, Prof. Akhil Pandey, Chairperson – CMDC, BIMTECH and Dr Itilekha Dash, Convenor- CMDC, BIMTECH.
There are 23 participants from leading public sector organizations like NTPC (DBF & Hydro region), and NTPC-SAIL Power Company who have registered for this training program.
The program is focused on Leadership, Decision Making Skills, Self-Management Skills, Interpersonal Relationship Skills, Finance, Performance Management, Innovation, Strategy & Design Thinking, and Business Writing Skills with emphasis on Project Management etc. The program also includes three days Outbound Training which is aimed at activities designed to improve leadership, team building, strategy & innovation.

A perfect example of this is "Uttarayan" which was celebrated at BIMTECH yesterday with performances of Bhangra, Bihu, Garba, Kalbelia and Lungi dances by students. Lohri, Makar Sankranthi, Bihu and several other farming festivals were seen at one place as BIMTECH has mini India among its students and faculty.

Industrial Visit to the retail giant, Best Price- Walmart in MeerutWalmart India owns and operates 26 Best Price Modern Wholesale stores in India. Our first-year Students of Retail Management program visited the retail giant, Best Price- Walmart in Meerut, where they got hands-on experience of the retail world and the entire operations of Retail Marketing. It was an intuitive visit and a great learning experience to understand the nuances and realities of the shop floor, which in itself is a rare exposure. It was a great learning experience for future retailers.

LYCEUM Mega Event 2019The 4th edition of "Lyceum Masterclass 2019", supported by Swiss Re provided the opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities in managing Indian business in the VUCA world. A group of students were groomed by the faculty mentors to collaborate as teams to deal with a topical and trending subject in the form of a presentation. They showcased their presentations before a panel of eminent corporate thought leaders who judged them on various parameters. This competition helped in nurturing the students and creating opportunities for them to grow at various levels.
