BIMTECH Alumni Mr. Avtar Monga is the Chief Operating Officer of IDFC Bank Limited. He has over 32 years of experience in working with Banking and Financial Industry. Prior to joining IDFC, Mr. Monga served with Bank of America as Managing Director Global Delivery Centers of Expertise (GDCE) globally. He was responsible for providing services across Operations, Technology, Data Centre Management, Finance and Accounting, Analytics, Operational Risk and HR across multiple lines of businesses and geographies. He established Bank's Captives known as BA Continuum across India and led the expansion into Costa Rica, Mexico and the Philippines as well as managed Six Sigma learning organisation for Bank of America. In addition to leading a large employee base across locations, he was also responsible for managing strategic partner relationships on behalf of the bank for delivery of Technology and Operations.
Prior to re-joining Bank of America in 2003, he worked with GE Capital for 5 years. Mr. Monga was part of management team to establish their credit card joint venture with State Bank which went on to become the fastest growing Visa business across Asia. He later also served as Chief Executive Officer for GE Capital Business Process Management Ltd. BIMTECH made Guinness Book of World Records
On Sunday, 25th September, 2016 students at BIMTECH made it possible to place the college name on the map of the world by creating a Guinness Book of World Records. The team comprised Naman Kumar (The initiator) aptly supported by Farees Moazzam Hifzur Rehman, Himanshu Jaiswal, Kushagra Mathur, Kushal Goyal, Mukul Kathuria, Naman Jain, Nitish Bisht, Prashant Panwar, Preeti R, and Vrinda Bhatia. The entire exercise of assembling 23,821 paper coffee cups of 250 ml size took a total of 21 non stop hours and the team of twelve members

Dr. A. Sahay Professor & Dean Academics at BIMTECH
Dr. Sahay’s teaching and research interests are in the area of Strategic Management including innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability and CSR. He has been a turnaround manager, corporate entrepreneur, researcher, educator and an institution builder. In his earlier assignment as Chairman & managing Director, SIL, he played the lead role not only in turnaround of the company but in creating new products and processes for national and international markets. He has served both corporate as well as academic institution boards. He has advised leading companies in the area of ‘Corporate Strategy’ which included creation of their Vision, Mission and Values. He was the lead consultant in many projects sponsored by European Union, Govt. of India and corporates. Dr. Sahay is recipient of best researcher’s award at management Development Institute. He has published in various journals of repute, in areas like strategy, Innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability and CSR besides writing research, text & edited books in addition to teaching cases. He also writes popular articles in business press. At BIMTECH, he aims to imbibe research culture and drive social change through social entrepreneurship.

Professor K. R. Chari has a rich experience of 37 years in corporate and industry and 8 years into academics. He has several achievements and awards in his name. He represented India in Industrial Applications of Computers at Hong Kong in 1979 and International Forums at Tokyo, Japan in 1983 and 1991. Prof. Chari was invited by Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) Tokyo, Japan as a subject expert and expert panelist in Green Energy to Taipei, Taiwan. He was also invited by the 6th International Forum on solid waste by Instituto Venturi, Puerto Alegre, Brazil held at Sao Paulo, Brazil and has been invited as a subject expert and panelist in the 7th International Forum that will be held at Porto Alegre, Brazil during 15th to 17th June 2016.
Prof. Chari has written a book and prepared video training programme on the topic “Value Engineering”. He has trained more than 5000 engineers and supervisory staff in more than 200 industries on various subjects of management. He was a regular visiting faculty to Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad and Engineering Staff College of India, Hyderabad. He has been the Training Faculty in more than 50 large organizations like BHEL, HMT, Madura Coats Ltd., Philips India Ltd., NTPC, NHPC, IFFCO, PMI, SAIL, NMDC, HAL, ONGC etc. His professional profile includes Regional Director, (AP) at National Productivity Council, Vice President at ABC Consultants P Ltd., Sr. VP and Business Analyst at New Horizons Software Inc, USA and VP-India at Unique Computing Ltd., USA. #KnowYourFaculty

BIMTECH’s CCR enable and empower Student
BIMTECH’s Centre for Corporate Relations (CCR) performs an enabling and empowering function for its students. It’s activities revolve around persuading suitable corporates to the campus, sharing placement related information with students, offering continuous inputs on soft skills, industry/company related knowledge bits, competency enhancing information, holding internship workshop, updation of current events, anchoring and dissemination of question banks generated from campus engagements, initiation and strengthening of student networking with corporates etc. CCR is also tasked with the production of Placement Brochure and other promotional material for distribution to corporates. Curriculum Vitae writing skills, soft skills workshops and arrangement of special lectures by leading recruiters, pre-placement talks, sharing of audio, video material to enhance student competencies etc. are also part of CCR’s remit. Besides, providing supplementary study material from Manpower (American Management Association) is also arranged by CCR. CCR is also anchoring the promotion of MOOCs (like COURSERA, Edx etc.) in the campus. This is in addition to making available the services of XED Knowledge portal and Oyster.com portal to students for updating general awareness and facilitating online projects respectively. One of the most prestigious student conduits i.e. BIMTECH Placecom Team, is constituted and mentored by CCR with assistance from about 12 experienced faculty to provide students opportunity to liaise with senior BIMTECH alumni, recruiters and also potential recruiters. About 20 Placecom team members along with CCR faculty travel to different cities in India to call on existing and potential recruiters and make presentations to them about BIMTECH’s activities - which incidentally, also acts as a “leadership apprenticeship programme” for students. CCR Placecom students are also especially trained in soft skills, research skills etc. The CCR team participates in the NHRDN and other HR community activities to keep in touch with leading recruiters. All in all, BIMTECH’s placement and summer internship efforts are majorly student driven, with CCR playing an enabling, capacity building and guidance role. The Centre which is a beehive of activities throughout the year, is headed by a senior Professor and is assisted by three experienced managers and is also supported by a few dedicated faculty.“ To ensure the best possible placement and training outcomes for BIMTECH students consistent with their preferences and choices” is the mission of BIMTECH’s Centre for Corporate Relations, which it tries to materialize with the help of all its stakeholders.

The flagship program delivering excellence since 1994 offers every student a very exciting and highly interactive platform for experiential learning through following business simulation tools and strategic initiatives:
. Capstone Business Simulation' game. A 3-credit compulsory course is a means to provide an excellent experiential learning platform to students through a real-world, competitive business environment. The participants, as part of a management team, own a business and play the role of its managers and engage in an experience that integrates all functional areas of business.
· Markstrat is another strategic marketing simulation course taught in the program. It lets students take control of a virtual corporation; making decisions on its behalf. The players of the simulation have to make number of decisions, in marketing, finance, research and development areas, in order to achieve a better performance than the competing players who also take control of a company. · KPMG's Six Sigma Green Belt certificate, a management methodology meant for driving process improvements in the delivery of goods and services, involves discussions, assignments and knowledge evaluation. Six Sigma Green Belts are business managers who spend some of their time on process improvement. BIMTECH had the privilege of organising an HR Round Table in association with NHRDN and Knowledge partners Deloitte on the Theme –“The Forces of Global Change: Reinventing HR” in Chennai on 21 October 2016. The evening began with a Welcome note by Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director BIMTECH. This was followed by a Key Note Session during which Mr. Debabrat (Debu) Mishra, Partner, Human Consulting, Deloitte Consulting made a brief but very interesting presentation on the “Evolution of HR Systems” – and the transition from Automation to Empowerment.
The panel discussion that followed veered around the sub-theme: “Changes in Digital Technology: Evolving New Organisation”. The panellists included – DR. Christine Augustine, Director HR-Global Human Resources, (VirtusaPolaris Corporation); Mr. Ganapathi S Subramanian, Head Human Resources, Sundaram Finance Ltd., the parent company of Sundaram Group; Mr. Naveen S Pillai, Dy. General Manager, HRD, TAFE and Mr. Ramkumar Chandrasekaran Head, Human Resources, TCS – Chennai Region. The session was moderated by Mr. Debu Mishra of Deloitte Consulting. The discussion veered around the real-time experiments being conducted by the panellists and was extremely informative with an added sense of humour. It concluded on the note that changes in Digital Technology was taking place at a very rapid pace and these changes would become very evident as soon as a couple of years from now. Dr. Anil Rao Paila, Dean of WE School, Bangalore made a presentation on behalf of NHRDN giving glimpses of the National Conference being scheduled in the month of December 2016. The session wound up with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Kamal Singh, Director General of NHRDN.

Sanjeev Roy, Senior Higher Education Expert for EU Public Diplomacy in India and in SAARC for the European Union in India was at BIMTECH on 26th October, 2016. Mr. Sanjeev delivered a guest session on "The International Dimension of Erasmus+ for India - Call 2017" Erasmus+ is the European Union main programme to support education, training, youth and sport. Previous year five BIMTECH students won the prestigious scholarship of Euro 4200 under Erasmus International Mobility Fund by European Union.
