The course has been developed under the supervision of the Chairman Lord Meghnad Desai, (Professor Emeritus, LSE) and is supported by the Vice-Chairperson, Dr. Indu Shahani (Dean, H.R College of Commerce & Economics). The Academic and Advisory board consists of renowned economists & financial professionals such as Dr. Ajit Ranade (Chief Economist, Birla Group), Dr. Tushar Poddar (Chief India Economist & MD, Goldman Sachs), Mr. Niranjan Rajadhyaksha (Executive Editor, Mint), Mr. P.D Singh (MD, JP Morgan) & Mr. Basant Shroff (Partner, EY).

The Academic and Advisory board will be intimately involved in the curriculum design and will also mentor the students.

Something about our campus -

MDAE will have a well equipped, state of the art sea facing campus on the 12th floor of the World Trade Centre, right in the heart of India's financial capital. The campus will have a couple of classrooms, collaborative spaces for students to work, an in-house library/computer lab equipped with the requisite softwares

What will you learn?

Students will learn tools and skills to understand topics such as

1. What causes financial crises?

2. How are banks regulated in India?

3. What constitutes good monetary and fiscal policy?

4. How does big data help? What does big data tell us about consumer choice and preferences?

The Program develops research capabilities, quantitative tools and software skills that are needed to succeed as an economist, analyst, data scientist, and various other roles in the financial sector and beyond.  Students will participate in workshops and seminars with top economics and finance professionals from around the world.

MDAE promises theoretical as well as practical training to students through workshops, internships -

Students would routinely get a chance to collaborate with corporates all across the spectrum. The Academy would be arranging sessions with leading banks, consultancies, policy administrators, think tanks and big data firms. The Academy also will launch initiatives such as the "EconLab" which would bring industry professionals and topic experts to train students.
