Social Immersion programme at LBSIM comes as a part of an endeavour to create socially sensitive leaders by exposing them to sectors of the society and economy otherwise missed by regular management education.
At LBSIM, one gets to be a part of Social Immersion Programme in association with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), with a need to instil the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the underprivileged and specially-abled communities in order to converge them into the mainstream of society.
Yashika Dudeja, Coordinator - HRythm, shares how keeping balance between academics and extra-curricular activities made her one year journey at LBSIM memorable.
"A year at LBSIM was no less than a roller coaster ride for me. In starting, the journey was struggling with endless assignments, projects, mid-terms and presentations, but it taught me the art of management by keeping a fine balance between extra-curricular activities and studies, as the institute doesn’t confine us to learnings from the classroom only. Dancing on talent night was a stress buster for me and the institute provided me with the opportunity to showcase my passion for dance. Outreach experience gave me the confidence to present

Meghna Khari, Coordinator - Cerebrate, shares her wonderful experiences throughout the one year journey at LBSIM.
"Each step I’ve taken in my journey at LBSIM has been instrumental in inculcating and developing key competencies that I possess. As someone who is not a big fan of classroom learning, the projects, case studies, and presentations are something I have always looked forward to. One of the most fundamental things it has taught me is- the importance of perspective. The difference in opinions within team members leads to major brainstorming, which in turn stimulates creative thinking.
Before the session began, I had a list of to-do things in this institute- which clubs to get into and where to focus my energy. Cerebrate was an alteration to this list, completely unplanned but equally incredible. I got opportunities to present my ideas, brainstorm with the team and build events from scratch. All these experiences have contributed towards me becoming a confident and accountable leader along with being a dynamic team player."

In this era where dependence on the internet is increasing with data being the new oil, the concern of crimes over internet has also raised. Cyber crime is a huge problem for today's generation and taking note of this, Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management organized a webinar on the topic, "Cyberlaw and Cybercrime Against Women: Identification and Prevention" in collaboration with National Commission For Women. LBSIM feels immense pleasure for hosting Justice HMJ Pratiba M.Singh, Judge, High Court, Delhi, also rewarded a position amongst The Top 30 Powerful Women by CII. She started the seminar while remembering Gandhiji and many other martyrs on the occasion of Martyr's day. Topics discussed were different forms of cyber crimes, their causes and legal aspects in India and the changes required in society and ourselves. She highly focused on the fact that cybercrime is not happening only against women but also against men and in both the cases, a person should take a stand and complain to the cyber cell or the police. We as an institute feel honoured to have had her as our Chief Guest who can be a guide keeping our students aware and safe. In the second half of the session, we were honoured to have the presence of three eminent speakers and Mr. Anil Shastri, chairman of LBSIM. First speaker was Mr Vineet Kumar, social entrepreneur, Founder & President, Cyberpeace Foundation. He spoke about cyber weapons, cyber warfare, hacking, email attacking, ATM crime among an array of things. He mentioned online portals and helpline numbers that can be used to file a complaint. Next was Dr. C.B. Sharma (IPS retired), Founder & CEO, Dr. CBS Cybersecurity service. He shared very important aspect i.e. Indian penal code and law revolving around cybercrime. He talked about punishment involved and said precaution is always better than cure. Hence, interaction should be limited. Next was Prof. Ritu Gupta, National Law University, Delhi. She gave various real life examples of these crimes and is a firm believer of quote 'No Means No'. She said women need to get their back strong to take stand against crimes. "Rather than fearing or ignoring cyber attacks, do ensure your cyber resilience to them." #LBSIM #NewDelhi #PGDM #online_webinar #cyber_security #awareness #speakers #NCW #CBS #cyberpeace #stand_against_crime #complain #Dwarka #LBSRC #cybercrime #crime_awarness #Martyrs_day #delhipolice #delhicourt #safety #cybercell #no_more_crimes #India
The experience of GD-PI-WAT in LBSIM was an amalgam of easy, moderate, and difficult tasks because the topic which I got in GD was easy but to say on that topic was not as easy as I thought and PI consisted of questions ranging from introducing yourself to why MBA, why LBSIM and then to all the knowledge I gained during graduation. Overall, I would conclude by saying that process is on a moderate level which can be cleared with basic general knowledge and understanding of the subject.
Tip: Be confident during the process and most importantly be yourself.
All the best to you all.
My experience for WAT-GD-PI in LBSIM was good. Firstly, everything was well-organized and managed from the start to end. The process started with WAT followed by GD and then PI. WAT/GD topics were not that difficult. The interview includes both academics and general knowledge questions.
Tip- Don't be nervous, just follow the current ongoing News. All the very best!!
"Saraswati Namasthubhyam, Varadey Kaama-Rupinee, Vidhya-arambham Karishyami, Siddhir Bhavathu Mei Sadaa" Vasant Panchami is a joyous occasion that celebrates Goddess Saraswati and the virtues she represents. Worship Goddess Saraswati to remove ignorance and attain knowledge, shed darkness, encompass the light, reject mediocrity and embrace spiritedness. Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management wishes you all a very Happy Vasant Panchami and Saraswati Pooja. May you all be showered with Goddess Saraswati's blessings 🙏. #LBSIM #PGDM #NewDelhi #culture #Vasant_Panchami #pooja #Devi_Saraswati #knowledge #Right_understanding #wishes #blessings #prayer #faith
The GD-PI-WAT process was easy. The WAT and GD were on the same topic. We had a very engaging, healthy group discussion and apt points were raised by one and all. As a biotechnology student with no work experience, the PI was my weak point. I wasn’t sure what kind of questions to expect and how economics or commerce-oriented it would be. But to my surprise, the PI was relaxed and the interviewers understood my predicament so asked me questions on biology and general current affairs. It was a well-organised and executed process. I thoroughly enjoyed it despite the initial nervousness.
Tip: Be confident, answer honestly and make valid points even if you make only one or two during GD.

The selection process was divided into three levels. First, we had WAT followed by second round- GD on the same topic. The topic was related to then current geopolitical scenario. It was engaging, thought-provoking, and insightful. The PI was the final round which majorly revolved around my graduation background i.e., Economics. The PI was relxed and the panel members were receptive to questions related to the Institute or courses offered. Tip: Try to keep your points in WAT and GD concise and crisp as you have a stipulated time for both. And try to establish eye contact while in GD and PI.
Warm Greetings of the day!! There is a change in the selection process. The last year process had WAT and this year, Extempore will be conducted in its place. We request the aspirants to be prepared for the same. We wish you all the very best for the selection process.
"Feminism isn’t about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.”
With this zest, Reminiscence – The Alumni Foundation of LBSIM hosted Josh Talks : UnGender The Future on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2021.
The session commenced with an auspicious lamp lighting and floral tribute to Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji, which was followed by prominent women sharing their challenges and success stories, throwing light on their journey to UnGendering the conventional mentality of their society and peers.
The first speaker was Squadron Leader Nivedita Chaudhary, Indian Air Force. She talked about the gender biases she faced not just in her small district of Rajasthan but also by her male colleagues even after being commissioned as Air Force Officer and how she proved them wrong by becoming the First IAF Woman officer to climb Mount Everest and was honored by the state Chief Minister for this rare achievement.
The second speaker, Neetu Singh – Social Activist and Teacher recollected her childhood days. In the early days, she used to think of the footpath as her home. At the very tender age of 5-6 she realized that instead of begging, the only way to change her life was education. She dedicated herself to studies and successfully achieved the bachelor's and master's degrees with minimal resources. She later became a college guest lecturer but lost her job for some reason. Post that, she found her purpose while teaching unprivileged kids of slums free of cost and this motivated her for starting her school, Sabki Pathshala. Education not only empowered her but also gave her the confidence to become an agent of social change in her area.

Intern’s Diary
LBSIM, New Delhi is happy to share a page from Summer Internship Diary of its student Abhishek Sharma who has interned with Fidelity Investments.
My Internship experience with Fidelity investments has been an enriching and vibrant one. I got an opportunity to be a part of Vendor management team and learnt about the next big revolution in IT, the agile based engagement model(s). My mentors and team members were very helpful and guided me throughout. I also got a chance to interact with various stakeholders involved in project management and how they overcome various challenges faced during the course of project execution.
I am very grateful to LBSIM and Fidelity investments for giving me such a wonderful opportunity.
Intern’s Diary
LBSIM, New Delhi brings another exciting story from its student Aayushi Sharma who has interned with Marico Limited.
“Be more. Every day.”
During my Internship period, this was not just a quote but a reality for me.
As with each passing day, I somewhere knew I was becoming a better version of myself be it at communications or multitasking. The project that I was assigned was quite interesting and it helped me understand every aspect of sales and distribution of the FMCG sector. The three major learnings that will stay with me forever are the importance of networking, the power of persuasion, and taking authority fearlessly. Interning with Marico has transformed me from a fresher who was just passionate about sales to someone who now is quite confident about it. I became more competent and wiser in these two months and will always cherish this Internship journey.
