Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management was honoured to host Dr.G.Venkatasubramanian, Professor, Centre for Environmental Studies, Anna University, Chennai on Monday, 9th September 2019 at LBSIM, New Delhi for a Corporate Interface session on the topic “How to Prepare for a Corporate Career”.
Dr.Venkatasubramanian spoke on how to work towards sustainable development through environmental management. He touched upon topics like green building, waste management, e-waste disposal methods.
Later, he stressed on the importance of good communication skills and why it is so important to know how to convey one's knowledge to others. He advised the students to keep themselves abreast of the latest technology and trends and have a proper plan of action for achieving the set goals. The session concluded with Mr. Venkatasubramanian answering the questions of the students.

On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, SPARSH- The Social Initiative Society of LBSIM, organized an event for the kids of ‘Choti Si Khushi’, its NGO Partner. The event witnessed humongous participation from the enthusiastic kids of the NGO.
The event began with Painting competition on the theme “Swatchhta - Prakriti ki Pukar”. A Quiz competition was also organised where the students participated enthusiastically. In the end, winners of the event were awarded Prizes and Certificates which further motivated them and would also help keep this learning spirit in them alive.
This event couldn’t have been more successful without the kids, the future leaders, who surely have the zeal and inspiration to work towards the change and a sustainable environment.
The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence is a prestigious annual award instituted by Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi. It honours a distinguished Indian for outstanding contributions in the areas of management, public administration and education every year. This year, 2019 was the 20th year of this award ceremony.
The event started with the reciting of the National Anthem and lamp-lighting ceremony in front of Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji’s portrait in the auditorium. Shri Anil Shastri, Chairman: Board of Directors, gave a warm welcome address and he urged the youth to follow their values. He ended his speech by quoting “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisaan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan”.
Thereafter, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu honoured Former Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, an eminent Indian biotechnologist, Dr. (Mrs.) Manju Sharma with the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence. Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu congratulated Dr. Sharma and said that humility, courage and integrity define the true spirit of the award.
Dance on the tunes of Garba, the performance of dandiya and the echo of laughter was truly a scene to observe on Navraas 2019, organised by The Cultural Society of Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management.
The whole campus was brought to life by decorations featuring Photo Booth set up by Mirage - The Creative Club of LBSIM which increased the zeal in the environment.
Razzmatazz - The dance society of LBSIM delivered an outstanding performance. The happiness on every face was apparent.
LBSIM organised the annual YOUTH PARLIAMENT in association with Cerebrate, The Strategic Management Club, with considerable gusto and dynamism on the burning topic of 'Revocation of Article 370 and 35A'. The event saw the participation of politically conscious students from various imminent management Institutes such as IIM Amritsar, Symbiosis, etc.
A full house session including Zero Hour took place. In the concluding session, Resolution 2.0 (Reversal of Revocation of article 370) proposed by CPI(M) along with INC and PDP was passed with majority.
At the end of the enthusiastic session, BJP(Symbiosis) were declared as the winners whereas CPI(M)(LBSIM) bagged the second position and PDP (IIM Amritsar) took the third spot.

Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi, in association with Zenith: the Sports and Fitness Club of LBSIM organized a session on "Internships and Mental well-being in the Corporate World" with Dr. Anupriya Singh, former OB/HR faculty of the institute for 12 years, currently teaching in University of Guelph, Canada.
She guided the students on the need of a correct approach and the importance of internships in MBA. The session, rich with examples and fun facts, focused on why internships should cover experiential learning and exposure. She stressed upon the significance of exploring new things and moving out of one's comfort zone. Along with it, she talked about the role that peer learning, one's attitude, and clarity of thought play in decision-making.

The morning of 20th October 2019 saw an extremely enthusiastic crowd lining up in front of Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Dwarka for our milestone event "Run For Education 4.0", a 6.2 K.M. long marathon across the lanes of Dwarka. The inaugural session started by paying homage to Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji and remembering him for his noble ideas. The run began with dedication, positivity and smiles. More than 300 participants came and ran together for the mission of spreading education amongst the needy. RFE is one of our ways to give back to society and bring about a positive change. And, this is how LBSIM organized another year of RFE carrying on its legacy of societal responsiveness.
Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management was honoured to have Mr Janak Shah, the co-founder of The Money Roller to deliver a lecture on 'The use of Data Analytics in Finance'. He also mentioned about new market trends and need of the hour of today's market like the use of R, Python, etc in financial markets, algorithmic trading, cognitive technology and application of data analytics in every sector.
It was a very synergizing session where he gave insights about the working of the market, importance of research, etc and he also discussed his journey of evolvement from 'MBA' to 'The Money Roller'.
The lecture concluded with a few queries of the students regarding machine learning, sentimental trading and various industrial tools and techniques.

It is the dream of every child to be a superhero and save many lives. Sparsh, the social initiative club of Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management gave the students of LBSIM that opportunity by organizing Blood Donation Camp in the LBSIM campus in association with the Rotary Club.The camp was started off by our director Dr. DK Srivastava. Enthusiastic Shastrians joined for the cause and realized their dream of saving lives by donating blood.Millions of people die due to lack of donors with a matching blood group during emergency. SPARSH, LBSIM and the blood donors became the true heroes of the day - by donating their blood and managing to save many lives in the future.

Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management organised the Diwali Mela at the Institute in collaboration with CULT, the cultural committee and SPARSH, the Social Initiative Society to celebrate Diwali.
It included the Diwali mela stalls and “ROSHNI-2019”, the LBSIM’s way to celebrate Diwali.
The Diwali mela stalls were set up by SPARSH and Antardrishti NGO selling Diyas and sweets for Diwali to support the underprivileged.
The evening saw a shift of spotlight from SPARSH to CULT which organized “ROSHNI-2019”, the festival of lights to celebrate Diwali away from home. The evening was complete with music, dance and fun games. Cult also organised a Rangoli-making competition which was the highlight of the evening.

Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management New Delhi has been ranked 5th among the top B-Schools of Delhi NCR and 28th among all B-Schools in India by The Week.
LBSIM has also been ranked as 13th among all private B-Schools in India and 4th among the private B-Schools in the north zone by the magazine. It has been ranked 3rd among all private B-Schools in Delhi NCR. LBSIM also fares really well among all B-Schools (both private and government) in the north zone of India with a 9th rank. It has a scoring of 421.
A team of 40 students from LBSIM participated in the sports fest conducted by IIM Kashipur. Laurels were brought to LBSIM by the Women's and Men's Table Tennis (Silver) , Men's Tennis (Silver) and Women's Throwball (Gold) teams. Other teams gave strong competition to the contenders in the tournament, especially the football team which made it up to the semi finals. The whole sports team is excited and all geared up for the upcoming events.
