hi...the confirmation thing slipped thru my mind too...didn't sleep well yesterday night over it...wrote an email yesterday to them saying I am confirming it and then called them up five mins back...a lady said - " u wanna confirm it?" i said "yeah"...and that was it...she said i can come down at the specified time...

hey guys there are sectionals in LIBA for the short listing but not in all sections maybe in va or ga there are no sectionals or pretty low sectionals but there is sure sectionals for Quants thats sure just check out anyone with below 75 in quants getting through

u can come down to a place named ChoolaiMedu , that should be 60 bucks

Hi guys, i had my gd/pi today
It was a cool one..........really cool
There were 38 candidates in today's batch and we were divided into 4
groups of 9-10 each, after a brief presentation about the institute.
We were then taken to the gd hall. There were 9 in our group(including
sachinigod). The topic was "Indian corporates cannot be ethical". We had
a very good discussion about the topic. The discussion went on for about
15 minutes. We were then asked to write a summary about the gd in three
minutes. we were then asked wait outside for our turn.
There were three in the panel.
P: Tell us about ur self
Me: blah....blah....blah....
P: why did u choose chemical engineering?
Me: told him
P: what's ur dream now?
Me: To be a good manager
P: do u need a formal education to be a good manager
Me: yes sir
P: So do u mean to say ambani, narayanamoorthy weren't good managers
Me: they were sir, but not all can become ambanis and narayanamoorhty
had a degree from IIT sir
P: what? r u sure abt that?
Me: yes sir
P: no, he doesn't have one (all the three of them come to a conclusion)
Me: (argued for some time, later accepted i am not that confident about that)

neway fellas here is my experience...the same group as rdkp...there was one more pgite - jeetu i suppose...
good gd, peaceful discussion, noone trying to turn it into a fishmarket...
Interview:
Same panel as rdkp...one gentleman on the left was bald and had typical way of pronouncing stuff, middle one looked bored, and the one on the right kept staring as if was gonna drill a hole with his stare...so their names - L, M and R
and myself is P...
M - where are u from?
P - this question must have come from the gd introduction where i mentioned my having shifted to chennai recently....so explained....
M - what does ur father do?
P - he's an environment consultant
L - what is an earthquaaak?
P - I beg ur pardon sir
R - he means earthquake
P - surprised at the question but explained all the basic geology abt it...forgot to mention Bhuj(am a Gujarati) and that they can also lead to tsunamis...
M - why LIBA? no first tell me why mgmt and then why LIBA?
P - explained all stuff...
L - other calls?
P - GIM and XIMB
L - which of the three do u think is better?
P - sir we get an outsider's take on it and the ranking of XIMB is better than the other two.
L - given a choice, which one?
P - (not again!!!) LIBA:wow:(frankly I surprised myself there)
L and M - laughing - u sure? why?
P - Sir I am sure that LIBA would be a better choice for me...becoz - it would cost a lot less, and decrease the financial burden on my dad or my future earnings, and it would allow me to be with my parents...which i havent done throughout my education...
L - u can offset the financial burden with the big salaries at XIMB...
P - sir I think I can get more than reasonably good salaries in LIBA too, coz there's no other institute with a stature like LIBA and companies around here don't have a choice if they want well trained managers...
R - what are the positive aspects of Union Budget 2005?
P - all stuff abt that rural development and little bit on tax...mentioned that 1 lakh investment can be deducted...
R - not giving any expression - is it new?
P - explained previously there were different specific investments on which one got rebates...
R - sternly - yes or no?
P - 1 lakh in open investment policy - yes...

btw I lied here in that college choice stuff...but when I spoke the truth in GIM, I felt that they wouldn;t have been digested it welll...so lied...so the question is - what can the instis digest? lies substantiated with good arguments or truth softened a bit with some allaying statements?
