I am from general category and I'm not riches of now but I will be in the future even with reservation in place. I still recommend and support the provisions of reservation. I tell you why. The people who argue against reservation feel that it must me based on the financial backwardness. Backwardness is not always financial, the most inhuman and unethical practices are carried out in various parts of the country against the backward classes which account for the mental pain they are subjected to. Even an SC or an ST with crores of money( although they are very rare) are considered untouchable in many parts of the country till the date. So the humiliation they are subjected to even in these days clearly states the need for their financial uplifting Atleast to eliminate their financial backwardness which ofcourse cannot uproot their social backwardness. So the people from those backgrounds cannot concentrate on their studies and their future if they constantly has to come through these prejudices in the society. Even with that financial backwardness and social backwardness, they work so hard to attain positions of height. So we have to support these hardworkers. Another argument is that reservation is being used by the well-off people from their background again and again keeping the financially backward from making use of it. I agree to this to some extent. There has to be a provision regarding limiting the seats to financially well-off people within the quota allotted to the backward classes. The people from these backgrounds still suffer from the social ills irrespective of their financial and educational background. So taking a view solely from the financial front would be a mistake. Finally, these social biases and prejudices are created and perpetuated through many centuries. Ancient India does not have any discrimination based on birth but by profession. So to heal these discriminations would take Atleast a small part of time in which they have been planted deep into the minds of the people. So the reservation for the backward classes must be the prominent affirmative action by the government in the future too as 70 years of independence cannot erase the injustice done for more than 2000 years to the socially and financially disadvantaged groups.
