Dear Friends,
I was kind of hoping to connect with others who are planning to join Lancaster University Management School for the 2012 intake. I recently got an offer of place from them and apart from the FT rankings of this school, I do not know much about it. The only thing which got me interested was their rich program content. So if there is anybody out there who can throw some more light about Lancaster, please do so.
Thanks
Popeyed!

Thanks..in earlier threads I saw there are 15-20 Qs in interview for around 25-30 mins...your seems pretty short...so have you applied any Indian 1 year programme or anywhere else ? Have you paid the amount in LUMS ?
Usually the min. WE is 2 Years , So I guess you must be eligible to apply. You can send mail to LUMS for getting their confirmation too.

The 15-20 Qs are mentioned for reference and it is collection of all possible questions that can be asked. Within 25-30 mins how can they ask 15-20 Qs with replies inbetween 😃
Hello everyone,
Had my Lancaster interview last week and got an unconditional offer that night itself. Most likely, will accept the offer.
The interview went great. My only tips would be, keep yourselves updated on the current events across the globe, esp: Europe and India.. for obvious reasons..

Mate, they wont ask 20 Qs. Mostly, they tend to be follow-on Qs. Max, they will ask 8 to 10 Qs. Thats it.

Congrats tracemein, what is the time-line that they have given for accepting the offer and to pay the security deposit? I need to do those before 8-Dec-2011. But still contemplating. What are the chances of landing a job after graduating from Lancaster..any idea?

Thank you. Most likely, i will accept it. The school has a fantastic curriculum and has a growing reputation, admittedly, not much in India. In India, Warwick has a higher reputation, i suspect, because of TATA involvement.
But for the top 3, the next tier schools are the same. i.e. Lancaster == Warwick == Manchester. These three complete the elite tier. Also add CASS (finance) and Imperial (Entrepreneurship)
From job perspective as well, if you are in any of the three mentioned above, you are more likely to get a offer compared to others barring top 3.
So dont worry about it. As long as you have solid prior work experience, it should not be a problem. Rest of the schools, am iffy about the prospects of getting a job, let alone a carrier change.
Regarding my deadline for accepting Lancaster, it is the 3rd week of December.

Thanks tracemein, what you have mentioned sounds good. So most probably even I would accept their offer. BTW, till what date you have time to pay the security deposit for confirming acceptance.
got an offer from LUMS. Course is good, any B-school within FT-50 rank is standard and reputed. But when searched in LinkedIn and other social networks..many of these year's passouts are jobless ! Now that is worrying...I know there is no concept of campus placement there but post MBA jobless even after 3-4 months is really not good...any other info puys...

Hi tracemein - I have to pay my security deposit before 31 December, can you please tell me what is the best way to do it if you have already done so.
Hi Guys
I have got an conditional offer from Lancaster today. I have got an offer from Vlerick as well. Could anyone give his opinion on the better among the two in terms of getting a job after the course ?
Hi,
I got an unconditional offer from Lancaster for 2012 intake and I would most probably accept it.
Can you someone give me some idea about cost of living in the campus and how much fund would be required for the same?
hi praveen..
nice to hear that. I also got a offer from Lancaster. I think on the website it says that you should keep around 10000 gbp for accomodation and other expenses for the course.
Could you share your profile and gmat score?
@bharatemail : Thanks for replying to my message. Good to hear from you. The website says 9000 totally and i believe that's recommended amount. In one of the previous post, a current student has mentioned that 500 per month would be sufficient to manage the living cost. I am interested in knowing from one of the current students.
My profile : 5.5 yrs/ IT/Finance/650 GMAT
Guys,
How is the placement in LUMS in the year 2011? Do we have any current LUMS student in the forum? Can you guys share some light on how the scenario this year is and is the condition like students need to return to India after MBA?
Please advise
