I will have to find out about GA/TA statistics. However many students in the current batch have scholarships.
As far as the placement report goes it should be out on the Katz website sometime after Sep 30th.
As of now,
a. 90% of all students seeking employment have job offers (2011 graduating batch) - this is including international students. *All Indian students have job offers*
b. 99% of the 2012 graduating batch have internships.
Hang on for the full report which will come out in some time.

1.i am not sure how good a reputation katz has in the US but does it have strong local support i.e. in and around Pittsburgh? Does it gain significantly since it is almost next to Carnegie Mellon?
2.I am looking to major in Consulting and want to get into IT consulting.Any input whether companies Delloite,Booz Allen,Accenture and IBM visit the campus for BA and Consultant profiles?
3.Is work-visa an issue post MBA?Are companies,given the current situation, sponsoring visas for international students ?

ashhchdg, yes, it is necessary to complete your TOEFL as part of your application to the Katz MBA program. I think there is enough time to apply with the TOEFL scores. The 1st round deadline is Oct 17th.

A: Katz certainly has good reputation in the US but that said it certainly is not a tier 1 program. As far as Pittsburgh goes every single corporation in Pitt has Katz grads without question.
Does it gain significantly since it is almost next to Carnegie Mellon?
A. Being next to CMU does not matter since each school has its target employers and employment profiles. BUT, Katz does not lose out significantly given placement and internship figures this year. If you want to stay local to Pittsburgh you are at an advantage doing your MBA from either schools.

A: I don't have employment stats broken down by company yet but Deloitte and other technology consulting firms certainly hire from Katz. In fact, the students with tech background saw 100% placement for the outgoing batch.

A: Visa sponsorship depends on the company that is employing students and not on the university. However Katz has a great program specifically to deal with visa sponsorship issues called "KATZPORT" (KATZPORT Katz Graduate School Pitt Business) through which Katz provides an immigration lawyer and pays all the legal fees for H1B visas in case you are employed by a company that does not know how to go about with the visa process. This is a big advantage for Katz students.

I would also like to mention that apart from scholarship benefits, since University of Pittsburgh is HUGE you have tons of cross functional on-campus employment and internship opportunities. These internships could be valuable since as an MBA student you will get to work on business plan reviews, technology commercialization studies, market research studies to mention a few.
The Institute for entrepreneurial excellence allows students to explore entrepreneurship opportunities on campus (The Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence | University of Pittsburgh). There are a plethora of opportunities to earn and learn at Katz, not just restricted to scholarships and assistantships

If toefl is mandatory then it means i will not be able to apply in the first cycle.Please let me know if i can apply in first cycle and then send the toefl score once it arrives ?If yes will my application be considered for the interview process during the first cycle ?

The class profile varies with the type of MBA being offered. Here's the avg GMAT for the 2010 batch
Full time MBA: Mean GMAT
(Middle 80%)618 (530-700)
Part time MBA: Mean GMAT (Middle 80%)554 (460-650)

3) What scholarships are available?
Scholarships vary based on several factors like your GMAT score, academic performance etc. Hence a particular figure cannot be quoted. However there are several students with scholarships in every batch at Katz.
