JPSC exam is a big concern for current govt. and they want the final list to be out before the elections, to maintain the BJP goodwill. kuch bi nai tho rajneeti exam karaygi...par exam tho isi saal chalu hoga. main apna energy constructive way main preparation par laga raha hu.

Q. Enumerate the charcteristics of revolt of 1857.
A.
The revolt of 1857 holds a very important place in the history of struggle against the British rule. It is also known as first war of independence because of the fact that it was a brief organized revolt against the British tyranny for the first time.
The introduction of greased cartridges for the new enfield rifle became the immediate cause for the beginning of revolt. The need of biting the cartridges before putting it in the rifle enraged the sepoys as it was contended that the cartridges consisted of animal fat. This being against the religious belief of sepoys hurted their sentiment and culminated into a full-fledged revolt.
However, the continued oppression of the peasants, harsh land tenure and land revenue systems, cruel treatment of the indian sepoys, were the long term reasons for the anger against British Rule.
The revolt broke out in Meerut on 10th May,1857 and soon spread to other regions of north India. South india remained untouched from the reach of the revolt. The sepoys mutinied and declared the last mughal ruler, Bahadur shah zafar as the emperor of India.The revolt was joined by mostly all the sections of indian society from peasants to zamindars, preachers,saints to artisans, upper and middle class people.
The main centres of revolt were Meerut, Kanpur, Delhi, Jhansi, Lucknow, Arrah. The regional leaders managed to organise the revolt in their regions and gave a jolt to Britishers for a brief time.
However, the revolt lost its strength as few of the zamindars and rajas conspired with the British for their own personal motives. This disunity caused the defeat of most courageous revolts in the history of mankind. The weak leadership at Delhi also added to the misery of the revolt. Still, the revolt turned out to be landmark moment in the sturggle against Britishers as it conveyed the intent of Indians against the British tyranny.

Can anyone help..i saw one question here someone posted the Question is define power? Within 25 words. Bt really? Like Question will come with 32 marks each Question..even if they ask power also then we should write it with 400-500 words i guess Now my problem is? They will ask define power? With 2 marks in 25 words.. Or what is power? Whats the significance and etc etc with 32 marks b/w 400-500 word limit. This is just an example:)
