Thereby, to enhance the blend of International concepts with its practical applications The Institute recently promoted cross-border interaction by inviting His Excellency Mr. Pierre Vaesen, Ambassador of Belgium to Greater Noida campus on the 1st August, 2013.
Mr. Antoine Delcourt, Counsellor (Economic Affairs) and Mr. Christophe Van Overstraeten, First Secretary (Trade and Investment for Wallonia Region) accompanied the Ambassador.
His Excellency Mr. Pierre Vaesen, Ambassador of Belgium was born in Brussels. He graduated in International Law from University of Brussels with Certification of International Law (LLB) from Cambridge University. He has served internationally as:
• Political and Cultural Counsellor at Belgian Embassy in London,
• Deputy Permanent Representative to the Western European Union in London,
• Ambassador in Lomé - for Togo and Ghana,
• Deputy Head of Mission as a Minister-Counsellor in Tokyo
• Consul General in Casablanca
• Ambassador in Kiev, Ukraine
• Ambassador in Thailand and
• Ambassador of Belgium in Greece
Since February 2011, His Excellency Mr. Pierre Vaesen is serving as an Ambassador of Belgium to India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka.
The consortium provided a forum for discussions between Mr. Vaesen and students about the economy of Europe, with focus on Belgium, its economy and International ties. The young minds explored their inquisitiveness regarding avenues for studies for Indians at Belgium, ties between the two countries, research opportunities and trading aspect between the two nations. The interactive session with the International delegate at GSM was an overwhelming experience for students and faculties. The ambassador's visit embarked the path for students to enrich their career abroad, blooming their foundation enhanced here at IILM GSM.
The two hours enlightenment at the Institute was a stimulant for young minds to redress their journey of success for the determined future.
