I am a Science Graduate, fresher on a gap year for MBA Preparations. I am not a 99%iler and all and I have accepted that.
I took a gap year but got less in XAT and CAT both than previous years.
Sucks because I was getting colleges like XIMB, IMT G etc. the previous year, but I did not go for them, thinking I can maybe get a better college.
Turns out this year, I got even lesser marks. The only good thing was my scores balanced in all sections, previously it used to be very high in one section and very low in the other. Also I applied to a host of colleges since I had no alternatives.
From my campus, I was waitlisted for placement at Google. Not the technical one, but the AdWords profile. They did not select anyone from our college that year, even after 4-5 rounds of interviews. They generally select 4-5 students each year.
I had given up on it and was looking forward to my MBA GDPI's, but now I get a call from them saying one final interview round, because now they have quite a few openings.
My other friends who were waitlisted, 2 to be precise, have converted it and joined Google.
My calls for this year - IRMA, SIIB, NM Bangalore, SIBM B for now. Expecting from KJ PGDM/IB, Welingkar PGDM, GIM, Great Lakes PGDM, IFMR, Loyola, TAPMI.

Now looking at long term, what choice should I make, If I am able to convert Google. If i join an MBA College, i would have done specialization in one of my fields of interest after 5-6 years of work-ex.
I have heard from friends and all in the industry/corporate world, its always better to take up a job, work for 2-3 years and then go for one of the top B-Schools.
Any guidance from seniors/experts/people in similar situation would really help.
Cheers! :D
