There is a one to one counseling session with Team Admissions at Jaipur on 23rd. I will ask them abt the fate of waitlisted guys on that day.
any stats of last year?
Am also waitlisted after the interview. Have been following PagalGuy from some days. Used to do so 5 years back when I wrote CAT first time. Times have changed but fate hasn't much :).
It seems many puys are waitlisted. I don't know if ISB is keeping away too many seats for R2 and waitlists. I don't know if ISB has ever waitlisted people for interviews!!!
Hi
Fill ur details here :

Well, even I joined PG 5 years back a lil later than you
Lets see for how many more years do we have to be on PG

Thanks mate! that will be interesting to hear.. looking forward to your post on 23rd!
how does the waitlist process work..will our profiles be compared with R2 apps or will we just be offered vacant seats if any?

Thanks Gaurav for starting this thread!!
Fellow waitlisted guys & girls
First of all congratulations! For those who are wondering why, let us acknowledge the fact that there is something in all of us which ISB couldnt ignore else wed be dinged
So lets hold on to that!
Further I would want each one of you to ponder for a while over the following statistics
Total no of seats at ISB 770 (so assuming 770 offers made)
Assuming a dropout of mere 5% (the top 5% guys at ISB would also have other options in hand) means 38/39 seats (lets say 40)
I had read in some forum that typically ISB waitlists 60/70 guys..going by MBAHELP11s logic, since the intake has gone up, the waitlist too should go up correspondingly.
So the waitlist has say 100 people this year (220 ~ 40% of 550 & 30~40%of 70)
That means there would be roughly 40 seats for 100 people waiting which is a probability of 40%
Compare that to ISBs published stats of 8:5:1 which means after the interview, one has a probability of 20% to get in
Which in effect means that by being on waitlist, your chances of getting in just doubled!!

Think about it!
P.S. All assumptions are mine. Errors too
Thanks Gaurav for starting this thread!!

Nice analysis DarkKnight.
I managed to skim thru the thread of last year and found a lot of surprises that came up with the status of W/L candidates changing multiple times. And most of the results/final changes came up before the informed time frame(3rd week of March). Plenty of the results came with the R2 results, others coming in 1st week of March (probably 2nd and 8th March and last one coming on 15th march) Interestingly as they move closer to April (1 week only), they give very less time to make decision (read : depositing fee) . So that is how things move, we will have to wary of the results/status changes in every week post 15th Feb! Some of us will get thru and others will move on to better options
Hi
As I have already communicated there is a one to one counseling session with Team Admissions on 23rd Nov in which I will be asking them about waitlisted people's fate. But still if you want to ask any particular query from them do post it here.
Thanks Gaurav for starting this thread!!
Fellow waitlisted guys & girls -
First of all congratulations! For those who are wondering why, let us acknowledge the fact that there is something in all of us which ISB couldn't ignore else we'd be dinged

Total no of seats at ISB - 770 (so assuming 770 offers made)

I think more ppl wud have 2nd thought abt joining mohali campus...since its d first year..so the total number can be slightly upward biased..i hope š

I have a few queries just in case ISB is willing to oblige
-1. Are R1 W/L guys evaluated alongwith R2 interviewed guys before R2 offers are rolled out?
2. For 770 seats are exactly 770 offers made or more? If more, how many?
3. What is the drop out ratio?
Nice analysis DarkKnight.

Gaurav - If possible, can you share the following numbers from the thread you are referring to
1. No of W/L guys on the thread
2. No of converts from W/L to admits
Any idea how many admits were offered in R1? I'm on the interview waitlist & am trying to understand the rationale behind this particular waitlist. I'm sure that the level of applicants isn't going to drop in R2, so I don't expect the re-evaluation of our profiles along with R2 applicants to be any different. Does anyone have any stats from prev year threads? Spoke to a couple of current students who hadn't even heard about this waitlist!
gauravtejwani SaysI think more ppl wud have 2nd thought abt joining mohali campus...since its d first year..so the total number can be slightly upward biased..i hope :P
Lol! š Yeah, hope so! š
Hi,
Considering that mohali campus would be low on admit's preference, will the waitlist converts be offered only mohali campus. Or is this allocation as per the area of preference (short term goal specified in essay 2)?
Its so strange :
ISB 2013 FB page has just 100 members..I agree not many ppl know abt PG, But most know FB...Also, many ppl are scared to inform their companies, hence they dont join....But R1 = 385 offers....i.e. 285 yet to join FB....100-130 (I safely assume havent joined)....Now I wonder -> Did ISB even give offers to 385 ppl ??? Hmmm.....
