can u tell whether irma has summer placemnts ??? also plz tell names of recruiters both ngos,co-operatives,banks and indian corporates if any??? is irma or ximb the better regarding course, fee and placement?? hoping to hear from u
Please read the admission brochure for the curriculam. we dont have summer placement like ximb or iims . we have three field work segemnt. field work segemnt for 2 months,u will spend time in a very remote vllage of the county to get sensitize abt rural realites. then 2 months of organizational training,in some ngo or cooperative of development organizations of banks then 2 months of managemnt tranining, again in some banks or research organizations or developent organizations.
OTS and MTS r equivalent of summer placement. u will get paid for both depending on the organization.
i doubt wheter am allowed to name the recruiters, but all the major banks (private-public, rural banking division, major development agencies,NGO, co-operative sectors visit the campus and placement is in plenty.)
reg irma or ximb............i dont know, but considering the reputation, brand, placement, curriculam etc i guess irma stands first. u can get it clarifed from ur ximb friends.
u have to worry abt this only after the final results are out and irma makes sure tht only those who are genuinely interested get a final call.

GD topic 1: advantages/disadvantages of credit card, discuss. GD topic 2: we were given 10 evils in the society,we have to rank individually which is the worst one to the least worst one ,then discuss in the group.

Boss there is no funda of getting ranks here at IRMA & regarding chances it depends on your performance in the GD+GT+PI. Since u had been working part-time with a SHG, just play this concept in the PI.It will be a addded advtg to u i believe. regards -Abhi

Dress Code: Wear Formals. If u are not against tie and all then better have one,in my gd everyone was having one. Reg suit and all, dont buy one jsut for IRMA interview,if u already have one then do wear it. Formal shoes, belt, colour of shirt, trousers etc does play a major role in all the interviews. Clean shave...........prper hair style etc will add to it.
Rank: No rank is published. Most important is ur interview performance.
Reg work exp, more than 60% of our batch has some sort of work exp, it does help u provided u are able to convince them why IRMA from fmcg. frame a sincere answer, dont screw up.

See i dont know anything abt other b-schools,but i shall try to answer based on what i heard from my friends from IIMs and all.
Campus life: It's normal here. Every weekend we used to have grind (dance party),just music and dance. We conduct 2-3 major events every year for the IRMANs. This weekend we are having MILAAP nite an alumini meet with one of the biggest band in the county coming to our campus,so the whole batch is busy with that. It is not definetely moody but not as vibrant as other b-schools. If u are thinking abt sports and arts we have a lot. Normally students particiapte in paper presentations of other instis and IRMANs always gets a top spot.
U can njoi,u can learn,u can do time pass anything u want. But it is the peer pressure that will make u work and njoi in any b-school. End of day it is al abt getting good grades and placement + learning. On a lighter note Gujrat is a dry state.
My own exp i find the campus life cool with single room, internet facility etc.Bacheors will find it most interesting.
well i won't b as modest as shreejit in giving u a view of the campus life here... men do we rock or what saturday nite grinds, themedinners (last one was on rajasthan culture, and had a camel ride to go with ), sports activities that go around for almost the entire year( slows downa bit with midterms and endterms approaching..), film shows (atleast twice a month, we have our on theatre cum auditorium) and i can certainly vouch for that being the Film secretary, after dinner meets with alumnis had an informal meet with satendra acharya( GM reliance retail and 9th batch IRMAN) and if that is not enuf i wud recommend u to go and check iima-amaethon site where IRMANs have been allover the place (in the online quiz we have 5 wins same as IIMA), then there are the block parties, every nite is a birthday party... and if u think that ain't enuf already then get a real taste of action when u land up here in the second week of february....
sorry Shrijith i just cudn't stop myself but had to say it... life at IRMA rockkkkkksss...

Aashish Great way to describe life at IRMA. Dude if we jad to describe life at IRMA in two words i would say "It Rocks". Yaar the campus is always buzzing ith something new. Sometimes it is the debate competition or a Grind or a B'day Party or a Film or some sports activities... We r always busy dude... And we celebrate every b'day in grand style... we give lot of b'day bumps and also have great fun celebrating eaxh b'day.... And as far as theme dinner is concerned this is an example of how we use creativity... As there are people from all parts of the country in our batch our Mess Committee came up with this brilliant piece of creativity where students belonging to a particular state come together and take up the responsibility in preparing dinner in their state's traditional style. The last one was rajasthani theme dinner and that was amazing. every body was dressed in traditional clothes... And Faculty also participate along with the students here... This makes it even more interesting... We also have lot of events conducted by seniors for juniors and also lot of block parties, Inter-Block events and also lot of extra curriculars whch help us to improve our overall knowledge and understanding of the current situation... So buddy don't worry about the campus environment... It Simply Rocks...
guys/gals wat my friens had described above gives u a glimpse..but sincerely don't distract urselves by these trivial quest. as the greater good is what value addition u get while being in a mgmt inst. i can vouch that many so called mgmt colleges r just relying on their mktg to attract students...IRMA stands out of these institutes...so prepare hard n think abt these modalities after securing admission.. cheers -Abhi PRM 27

As Abhishek said start preparing for interview.
For a fresher: Brush up ur subject, graduation. agri people do give spl care so as eco and comm guys. Be prepared to face the question why IRMA why not IIM ? why u want to join rural sector? all these type of qs have a great time
guys as our elderly and respected batchmates have already showered u with lots of gyan on how to prepare wat to do and wat not to do i wudn't go more into the nitpickings.... but just one thing for which i had recieved some Personal messages and phone calls was whether ur knowledge abt development sector is something that needs to be displayed in the interview?... well the answer is both yes and no.... for the ppl who hav workex esp. something related to development sector surely get ready to b grilled also for freshers who will unknowingly lead their interview towards this direction (which will happen with many of you) u sud also be ready with atleast the basic groundings... i would only say that it wud do u no harm if u have knowledge about the working of NGOs, SHGs, Farmer's cooperatives etc.
P.S. just keep this in mind the interview will be in ur hands u can steer it to any direction u want ------------------------------------------------------------------------ also statistically u r already clear of the major hurdle where the selection rate is less than 5%... u have a better chance this time ( selection rate 25%)
