can u pls throw sum light on the process followed for GD.Asin its more case-study oriented or involves group tasks..and soforth...
Also can u further give sum gyan as to how shud the 2nd stage be targetted??
A small piece of advice 2 ppl selected 2 appear 4 GD/Interview: This thread has already got some of the junta pourin in their experience and views abt IRMA entrance...plz go through the previous pages...and dont worry...u will hav a lot of inputs comin in...
we understand ur anxiety/confusion..we hav bn thru all of it!...u can b assured tht u wil get help...
Group discussion as a part of selection process is recent phenomenon at IRMA...Interview has got more weightage here.
But for those who want to know...i will share my GD experience at IRMA...
We had 2 grp task...one was normal GD and another as priority exercise...
In priority exercise...a set of characteristics of a good political leader was given...
we need to give priopity according to individual opinion and then discuss in the grp...try to convince other members of the grp to come to a consensual grp priority for same...
Though we had a good discussion in the grp but could nt come to a consensus for all the characteristics....
for GD...topic was...i dont remember exct topic but something abt " law and order in Indian cities"

i guess that wud be an relaxation exercise...n probably one step to make us comfy wid the culture n all...my interview is on 14th feb...valentines day...hehehe...evrybdy will have same set of questions..how many people will be taking interviews n what all steps will be there..n one more thing..im sure they will ask us the questions from our background..mine is kinda weird..

hmmmm...get the basics of ece..esp communication engg fundas as a prof of who teaches us GIS sits in the int of ece guys..thoda apna exp relate karna IRMA ke context mein....y leaving..wat value addition u expect..or haan quest depends on ur ans to why rural mgmt....
14th feb ko...hmm..we r having our finals starting...jitni jaldi ho cum to IRMA...13th tak to aa hi jaana...

guys/gals..GT exercise is a simple one..just put some logic into the exercise and do put forth ur point....argue for it by giving logic and haan prevent chaos and if it happens u r surely on a -ve side..do complete ur group task as it will add points as a whole to the grp..many grps r not able to complete the tasks as individuals try to dominate..i should say..these individuals will be penalised so take care of this point...
Same with GD..but in my grp one person didn't speak at all despite given a chance and still he was selected..but again..chaos is strict no no..

As i have heard in most institutes GD is the elimination round..so they elminate ppl n then take interviews of rest ..do we have somethin like this in IRMA too..or evryone gets to have a PI session??

evryone goes for PI....cumulative score of written and GT+GD+PI is considered!

@bainkid.. to add to what abhishek has already said i would just mention that the major elimination takes place at the written stage itself (461 selections out of 10000+ aspirants) so just about 5% selection rate.... from this lot they will pick 100 odd people . a clear 25% selection rate... so u c ur chances are infact brighter in the second round...

Give ur Best...u r very close to be a part of IRMA..
For interviews,
Focus on ""why IRMA?"...please do not try to make fool of Interview panel...bcoz they r experienced ppl outthere...they will immediately recognise...try to be genuine in ur answer...
other thing is...u should be very clear abt ur Subjest of graduation...

Hey if u forgot ur roll number then go to the irma website and when u click on the link which shows the results. There will be one link which will ask u if u hv forgot ur roll number.
And for othrs guys prepare well for the 2nd round. As far as GD is concerned do not try to dominate your group. Try to put your point as smoothly as possible. And for Interview Why IRMA? this is the most important question. If u answer this question correctly that's it. There is a very high chance of you making it. And for this do not bluff. Try to answer as frankly as possible. You will get a fair idea of what to say after u come here and speak with some of us. We were also in the same kind of situation last year. So dont worry and prepare well for the GD/PI. I had uploaded a list of GD topics which we faced last year. I am uploading it once again in case someone missed it. Go through this list and u will know what kind of topics will be there for your GD. This will help u in ur prep. Anyway once again prepare well and All the Best.
