55% will surely affect.. See CAT %ile only help you fetch a call, afterwards the deciding factors will be your acads, extracurriculars, work ex, and most importantly your performance in GD-PI.. You can't do anything about your acads so instead of getting demoralized prepare well for your CAT. You are scoring well in mocks. All you need is a practical approach. What should be my percentile to get calls from top IIMs(ABC)? I have started prepartion since 1st August. Have joined online classes of mbauniverse.com.And undertaking AIMCATs. My CAT is scheduled on 21st October 2012. I am seriously studying for about 5-6 hours. Please tell me if this 2 months period will be enough for my preparation if I study 5-6 hours daily. And can I crack IIMs with this Academic Background. What percentile should I target for?

My First Post here.....have been a mute spectator of PG for a while now.....I was overwhelmed(still am!) by the amount of info being shared on this forum!! Really respect the people who take time out of their hectic lives to help out aspirants like me....
Anyhow...i have a pretty ordinary profile.....Xth 88, XIIth 78....Graduation B.tech in Aerospace (Engineer 😛 ) 66.3 ....Working for Air India now. Six Months experience till date. Want to do my MBA for two reasons.
1) To accelerate my professional growth curve(Read: $$$MONEY$$$$)
2) Getting quality education from an institute of high repute.( Intellect, Social standing, peer group respect )
Well too many stars in my eyes right now. But the fact is that, i was never a hard worker. Yet, i have got by through sheer luck and a bit of intellect ( I believe i had a decent upbringing). I actually wanna feel good about achieving something good through hard work and determination. I have started my preparation with the following steps:
1) Ordered the Arun Sharma Set online.
2) Deleting my FB account. (Too big of a distraction )
3) Started Wordlists. (Very BOOORRRIIINNNGGG!!!)
My advantages are that my english is pretty good. Reading speed is high. I was never very good at math, but whichever topics i know, i am fast at it. I know i have set high hopes on the CAT this year (2 months only) but i believe in miracles!(ever since i passed my degree exams!!)
So Puys, Here's what is on my mind right now. Words of encouragement are welcomed. Criticism, if genuine and not sarcastic, is also awaited. I am a realist, so words of wisdom may help me understand my standing right now.
And yeah , Before i forget, IIM C is my dream school. Others to be considered are All the other IIMs (Except Kashipur perhaps nothing against them, just found them really low in the rankings!), SP Jain, MDI, IMT, NMIMS and Maybe the IITs too.
