currently i completed my BE in Computer Science stream
now i started prepration for CAT
i wanna do PG bcoz if im not doing PG now, thn in future i maynot complete my PG
i wanna make my carrier in media mgmt because i want to open a new radio station .
my aim for next year is to get top college..
as u see friends my english is very poor can u all plz help me me in clearing CAT exam to get good college.
if i didnt get good college thn may b nxt year i wil be married

:biggrin: Not sure where you read that "ENGINEERS ARE NOT PREFERRED". IIMs, XLRI,FMS etc. don't have a CRUSH for ENGINEERS let me tell you that as well. Yes, recently few IIMs wanted to have a more diversified batch e.g. IIM-L.
With 5 months of preparation you can get a good score but again depend on your strategy & perseverance

Finished my B.E ( Bachelor of Engineering ) in 2011,
currently working in Cognizant Technology Solutions, Bangalore since August 2011.
I want to do an MBA either in India or abroad depending upon the situation 2-3 years down the line and thus stumbled upon this excellent site.
Im not interested in technical stuff at all. Had to do engineering because it was my Fathers wish :)

I am Agneya, 35 yrs old, working as a physicist(senior researcher) in the UK for the last 5 years. I also did my masters and PhD both from UK. I am planning a career shift from academia, by going for a full time MBA degree next year. Over the course of the last 2 years I have been realizing that as I am progressing in my academic career at this level I am doing less science and more and more management work (people, work, logistics), collaborating internationally as well as spending a significant amount of my time writing proposals to secure funding from industry as well as govt resources by selling my research. I now want to move on entirely by going for an MBA and then working on a managerial position in the energy sector. However I do feel a bit skeptical as regards my age and academic background being deterrents in the path I am planning to choose. I am thinking of trying for ISB Hyderabad, India after writing the GMAT. Being away from this sector for a long time leaves me a bit clueless. However I am trying to do some proper groundwork before I get started. Any suggestions would be very much welcome.
