hello everyone......are what we reffer to as puys.....this is akshay n my first ever post on pg......m a third year engg under grad...want all of u to give a suggestion about the consideration of acads(10th,12th)....i've got 84.26% in 10th n 77% in 12th....70% avg in engg till date from mumbai univ....i've read the thread "all iz not well" which negated ma thots for iimspiration....i've a deep respect for all puys.....would like to kno u views on this.......thank u

personally, i feel you've got decent acads. I had much lesser percentage, still made a convert, there are many people here who've done the same....so no need to worry about that, try to focus on the exams. all the best.

I plan to give my GMAT in feb 2012. And apply to a few colleges in the spring semister of 2013.

Hi everybody.
I am Sudarshan, from Mumbai. I have done my B.Com and then did my Bachelor of Laws in Mumbai with average grades. I have about 8 months part time work exp in a law firm. I am currently working in one of India's larges offshore shipping Co. in their Insurance Dept. My job involves arranging Insurance for our assets(right from ships to cargo), claim settlement, premium negotiation, vetting of Charter Party contracts, basically everything related to Insurance. I have completed 2 and a half years in this job. My GMAT score os pretty low, its 560(V23, Q44). THis was my second attempt. In my first attempt, I scored 530. With this score, I know I dont have too many options, or rather I cant select any top business schools. I am interested in a b-school which is known for its concenteration in Information Systems. I dont have any formal training in any IT related field nor have a degree in IT. Is that a requirement? I have short listed a couple of schools - 1 Eller College of Management, Rochester Institute of Technology(Saunders School of Business), Krannert School of Business, Carnegie Mellon, and Smith school of Business. Of all these schools, Rochester Institute of Technology looks more gettabe with my scores. However, I dont know if it has a good rep. Further can anyone tell me how are the job prospects after an MBA from Rochester institute of Technology? Thanking you guys in advance.
