'evening, ladies, gents and well, pagalguys.
Heard about and browsed this website a year or so ago on a lark, great place I think.
I have a question that I don't know where to post. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd be very grateful.
I'm currently working at a small company in Bangalore. I have 4 years of work-experience in IT (god, I feel old.) and for various personal reasons, my current life-plan is to move to the US of A in early or mid 2013. To work towards this, I'm planning to get a job in a big MNC and spend a year there and apply for a transfer when I have to. Another obvious option is to study in the US, which, for me, would mean either an MS or an MBA. I don't see any obvious advantage of an MS apart from the gateway it provides to the US and a job there and I would like to do something non-technical for a while. Also, all my MBA friends earn a lot of money and I'd like a ride on that gravy train :D
So, after that little essay, my question is this : is a foreign MBA worth the cost? How long does it take to repay the loan (how long will you have to stick to the hopefully high paying job if you don't like it?) and is it possible to live a slightly domestic life while doing an MBA in the US?
Please forgive any obvious stupidity and assumptions. This is my first little step and I'll get better, pinkie swear.
