hi guys i am looking forward to do MBA :

Hello Everyone!

I am new to this community & will introduce myself now...
I have done the BE (Telecom) & working as a telecom professional since last more than 8 years. Now after spending such a long time in job, i feel that I should have a PG to survive in this competitive market.

So I am started exploring the various options for it, right from the full time MBA programs to part time executive MBA programms.

Right now I am in a dilemma for choosing the course for me. If any one can guide me in choosing the right course, i will be gratful to him/her.
I have three options in front of me & I have valued them with some difficulties. If you can give your opinion on each of my view, it will be very helping for me to take the final decision.

Option 1: Go for GMAT & join the 1 year full time MBA program in IIM/ISB or overseas.
Pros: Better prospects for future. Excellent opportunities in various field.
Cons: Will be difficult to manage the family routine without a salary for 1 year. Heavy fees will require higher education loan

Option 2 : Join the part time MBA program in SPJAIN/ITM or any other colleage in Mumbai
Pros: I can continue with my existing job & still do the MBA without disturbing the routine. (Maninly financial)
Cons: Lesser prospects as compared with ISB/IIM or any other full time MBA course.

Option 3: Join the Interactive session PG dimploma programs through Hughes Netconnet
Pros: PG dipoma offered by IIM or IITs
Cons: Probably no value to these programs.

Guys please guide me or give your views on these three options.

ily n have a whole lot of responsibilities already......
thanku

i will suggest you to go for first option .
if u got admission in iim/isb after some yrs thr will a zero extra on ur today's salary ! !
but getting these clg is not tht easy .
u have to prepare hard, invest lot of time ! !
thr are also other good clgs , u can try for that, all depends hard work u put in ! !
don't think abt opt 3 , it won't benifit u in future .
for more info u can ask this question on relevant thread ! !
hope it helps .

Hey sarangpk,

Welcome to the community!

Well, I'd say that only first option sounds doable and worth pursuing. What I think, for the rest of the options, is better not to opt for them, as they won't add much value, and I personally feel that it will be improper utilization of time and money as well.

If you'd seriously put an effort of 1 year in IIM/ISB Ex MBA then results will be unmatchable compared to other options. But I'd like to add 1 thing, though. Though the choice to opt for 1 year program is promising, I think serious efforts will also matter a lot, to reach the target. If you can put in some serious efforts then you're set for ISB/IIM!

As far as a year's salary & MBA cost is concerned, I guess you can handle the expenses from your savings and MBA cost can be covered through a loan. Banks have special loans for IIM & ISB students, you don't need to provide any security, as your paycheck after MBA itself will secure the loan!

I am much younger to offer this "advice". I know you'd research very well and then take a decision. I thought this might help!

Best of luck!

Hello to all!

I am new to this forum and also relatively new to the world of MBA aspirants. Gave GMAT this May - got a score of 760. Only after I saw my score, I started seriously considering for MBA.
I have 12+ experience in the IT services industry. Currently in the US - have been here for the last 2 years.
I submited my application for IIMA PGPX 2013 class at the last moment and got shortlisted for the interview. And now I face the task of writing the essays and preparing for the interview.

Hi,

This is Dilip. I am planning to give my GMAT exam. I seem to be lost where I amm at my preparation as I am not able to score high though I know most concepts. I need some study materials, especially some of the exams. Please guide me on how to prepare for the exam. Also , I am new to such forums so I am not sure of most of the options.

Hoping for a positive response

Regards
Dilip
