hi friends, after goin through my ear surgery finally got time.. to know anything about cat , mba'a etc... i was told this is the place where the most intellegent people meet in.. so jst wanted to be one such person i nearing future!! my intrest for cat has been incresing and now that iam here hope it sets my career as well. i just wrote my bbm final year exams and waiting for the results..! so people hi once again.. hoping to be educated !!

i am sonu.:
i have done my B.Sc. in phy maths nd comp sc.
have already given 2 attempts at cat
cat-2009:: 88.xx%ile
cat-2010:: 87.xx%ile:-(
i came to know about PG from the head of insti i joined for cat prep.
well now if u have read my post den its clear that i am totally screwed up (don't wanna use the f-word)
and i hope this time i will succeed.

Hi Kasabian,

Which IMT have you got admission from? What was your performance in various exams this year? If you had a convert from IMT-G, it is not a bad option if your aim was at doing MBA from top-15 or top-20 B-schools, but if you want to do it from the best of best, then you can try for at least one more year and take a call later on.

Good that you have a focus, realy heartening. But I have a question for you:
If you want to do MBA in HR, why not aim at XLRI (that is the best in Asia to do HR) or TISS (2nd best in the country for doing HR)?

Hi Everyone,

I'm a 2009 pass out Metallurgical Engg. I worked with an FMCG MNC (Beverages) for a year and a half. Decided to quit in Jan this year to prepare for my Management entrance exams.
I'm on PG to aid my preparation and also to get more information on the different B-schools.
My aim for the next one year would be to get into the MBA-HR program in MDI, Gurgaon. I'm targeting a 99+ percentile in CAT.
Looking specifically for a career in Training and Development.

Hi Braj,

For most of the GDs, you need to be aware of the recent developmentes and issues. For one, this is a very small list of topics without which you can't do much

1) Political unrest in Libya and other middle-east countries
2) The 2G scam
3) Radia tapes scam (again related to 2G)
4) Adarsh housing scam in Mumbai
5) All the issues related to Commn Wealth Games
6) The kind of dirty policies adopted by political parties in states like Andhra
7) (How can I forget) The Lokpal Bill and its implications
Nuclear disaster at fujushima (pardon me there is a mistake in the spelling) power plant in Japan
9) Rising inflation (food and others) and its implication on economy
10) Impact of decrease in growth of Chinese economy (decease in commodity prices and from there on)

In general, keep a tab on all the developments happening around. Do not just go through a sinle article or an opinionated article, because then you would tend to byheart the points (and we know how tough it is to mug up), rather, make it a practice to read on following topics from various sources, follow them on news links, enjoy this process of learning from various sources. during GD, try to put forward diffferent perspectives (Social, Political, Economic etc., I know I might be using a jargon here, but you need to look it from different perspectives) and add a point on two from each of these perspectives, try to sound logical and put forward facts rather than just giving opinion. Sorry if I gave unsolicited advice :)

I for one know that there is MBA in Biotech from Symbiosis, this should be really good for you. Please try to find out if you can find any other institute offering MBA in Biotech.
