Hello All,

I am Sandeep Garg.
B.Tech Mechanical Engg. from IIT Delhi: 2008
Worked as Engineering Manager for ICI Paints India Ltd. (at Paint Manufacturing plant in Mumbai) for 2 years (May'08-Apr'10)
Now, working in an IITB based start-up on profit-sharing basis.

I am targeting ISB and IIMs. My date for GMAT is 5th Aug'10. Also I m preparing for CAT'10. However, I am more inclined towards ISB because of my interest in Entrepreneurship. I am more interested in networking with experienced people.

Please suggest me the score I shall target for ISB, keeping in mind my profile.

I am ab13
i am in the second year of my bba. i am currently preparing for cat. i am very new to all this so if anyone could suggest how much time does one need to prepare for cat and what kind of score do i need to get to make it in one of the IIMs. as you can guess i have no experience and my 10 and 12 percentage is around 70%.

time depends on your capability..for some it is 3 hours,for some it's 6 or 10 hours..
Try to devote some time on each of the sections daily..see how much u need..

With no work-ex,you will need atleast a 99.4+ score for an iim call..

for getting into a decent enough college you need to score 90+in cat

look,there are many freshers who drop one year and still make it to top b-schools,even iims..
You have to give some strong reason to justify your drop in interviews..
But i will suggest you to try avoid the drop,if it's possible for you...

HI to the entire PG community... My name is Neha and i've completed my B.E in Computers this year... Even after completing 4 yrs of engg i don't feel im interested in the technical area... I plan to appear for CAT 2010 for preparations for which i started about a month ago.. theres just so much to do and so little time... there's no college and im not working anywhere so i hope to make the best of the little time that i have... I request all the PG members to guide me and provide me with their valuable suggestions and expertise... I'll really appreciate if i get some assistance in planning my preparation considering the little time that i have... 😞

look,it's still 4+months for cat..
DI- preparing for di is very easy.you don't need to build any superior skills..or super concepts.
You just need to practice some di/lr sets daily. Solve atleast 5 sets daily from anywhere for the next 4 months..you will be done wid DI

english- read as much as possible. Novels,magazines..etc etc..solve some rc's daily.learn some vocab daily..keep on practising..

QA- brush up your concepts as fast as possible..and practice from a standard book lyk arun sharma or arihant..practice for some time daily...

Last,but most important..join a test series like of TIME,if not yet..and analyze each mock very religiously..this itself will add a lot to your preparations..

So,thinking what? Just start with your preparations
