This is Manish from Delhi. I am planning to apply to top 10 US schools next year for my MBA program. My brief background-
I am 31 years. I have around 8 years of work exp in the financial sector. Right now running a stock market research and real estate consulting firm in Delhi. I have written two books on economic issues. Currently I am writing a book on global issues and the role of India and China in the world economy( to be published by a leading publisher in India). I have written several articles for leading newspapers and magazines in India. I am a regular columnist for a leading Jammu and Kashmir newspaper. Presented several research papers in international conferences. Visiting faculty to MBA institutes in Delhi on finance subjects. I have done graduation in commerce and masters in business economics. average acads. I am also FRM, cleared Level 1 of CFA, completing CBM and CAIA. Will be giving my GMAT in June(expecting a score of 720+). I am fluent in German. Learning Chinese and French. Worked in Aus for 2 months and 1.5 months in China.
Can anyone tell me what can be my chances in top 10 schools.

I am Jayant Rana. I've been using PG for about three years now to get my doubts cleared, to know more about my options regarding MBA, and information that only a huge group of people (with somewhat similar goals) can share over internet (arguably the greatest invention of all times!:thumbsup:). And, with the kind of democracy that prevails here, I have had an extremely gratifying experience. Hats off to the people who work tirelessly to make PG what it is, an excellent and interactive information repository.:clap:
BTW, I am yet to introduce myself, so without further delay, here it is:
Education and Work Ex Background: I have just finished my B.Tech in Biotechnology (with a sub-specialisation in Industrial Microbiology).
Current Occupation: Starting with my MBA (International Business) this June (2010) at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
Why on PG?: To celebrate the Spirit of Management Education.:cheers:
Specifically looking for what on PG?: Gaining insights in what's 'happening' apropos MBA, and networking with ambitious people.
Aim for next one year?: Will be busy with my MBA (IB) at IIFT...absolutely thrilled by the idea!

But i landed in getting into TISS MSW. And i'm ecstatic ... Though i'll not be pursuing MBA but it will give me much more happiness and satisfaction preparing myself to work for a greater cause.
