Hi,
Giving details about ACET is unethical and an offence (as per IAI norms).
Also, ACET questions are from a huge Database of questions, so who gets how many question on STAT/FAC can never be determined.Therefore, prepare for BOTH properly.
I can help you by giving these important tips :
-- If you worry about Stats, and will be giving ACET in the coming slot(may be in july or august), prepare first from HEAD FIRST -STATISTICS book, but do use the syllabus while running through the chapters as alll might not be required.
--But stats is just one Part, FAC is also important and has topics like Differentiation, Integration.
Best would be to
-start with HEAD FIRST-STATISTICS now itself
-apply on the very first day when subscriptions for ACET opens.
-prepare short revision notes(only formulae)
-DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MEMORIZE, that will be disastrous, and you'll bang your head during the exam day if you forget a formula:banghead: , instead learn how the formula got derived
-the books provided by IAI after subcribing for the exam are excellent to learn and to understand
I asked to prepare for STATISTICS first, because for FAC , you will get a link for video tutorials, that makes it easy to catch up on FAC really fast.

If u r planning to appear for ACET in Jan., then don't worry. The level of maths and Stats in the study material is not tough. try to register as early as possible so that you can get maximum time for preparation.

I am planning to give acet in jan 2012 but I am a bit apprehensive regarding the prospects of the same as I am a commerce graduate (fresher). further is it difficult to become an intern as I have seen many people(not personally known)
on linkedin who have cleared 2-4 CT PAPERS but still finding it difficult to find
prospective employer for internship.
has this got anything to do with the profile & statistics background?

It all depends upon how you sell yourself. Moreover there are many who are nostalgic so they look for opportunities at their homeplace only!!!!

I think it will be available only before 15 days of the Exam.
One of my brother's friends gave the ACET exam. He showed me the PDF files which they send after registration. It has good explanation but it needs a few more practice sums.... Anyone knows any textbooks for ACET which will have practice MCQs so I can be better prepared before giving the exam??? 
can somebody tell me weather we can change our test center for ACET or not. actually at the time of applying i filled my xam center for jaipur , but now i want it changed to mumbai. traied calling on IAI phone no, but no1 picks the phone.
