Institute of Actuaries of India-Actuarial Common Entrance Test (ACET)

when will be the result of CT1 & CT 2 exam held on november 2012???..............

I plan to get the soft copies. I will probably give them a couple of readings. I don't think IAI material will be my primary source of information/learning. I can always use the office printer to print any tough chapters/sections 😃

if you get that much time outside your office work, then why not? But be careful in first reading what is relevant and building knowledge about that and then you may go for extra.

Just a suggestion from my side, as you seem to be in a real hurry to become actuary.
@KhattamInsaan Yes they acknowledge it. I have got the mail from them.

Is it compulsory to buy the material to give ct?

i am CA want to appear for ACET when should i register to sit on next attempt....i didnt get the clear idea about the roadmap for being a Actuary...any 1 can pls suggest the after clearing ACET how we go a head in this course.....site is a bit confusive.....
@haresh13021990 - See, first there is an entrance test followed by actuarial exams based on various subjects. Example given below

Haresh thought of becoming an actuary in Jan'13. He will fill out the acet registration form for the acet that will take place in June'13. Post the results, you can start preparing at the earliest around the last week of July'13

Actuarial Exams will happen in Nov'13. For which results will be out in Jan last week'14
You can give a maximum of 3 exams at a time. There is primary CT series consisting of 8 exams, followed by other exam series (in total >15 exams, i guess)

Hope that clears the doubt

Road to Actuary as Haresh has asked and also since it is very unclear to most, I am putting it here. Hence I would request anyone to read this post before asking further questions.

1> First you take ACET. There is only registration fees for that and you need to have passed Plus II or Class XII with english as a subject. There is no other eligibility for that. No maths no stat is required.
2> After clearing ACET you become a Student Member of IOA. After that you can appear for exams.
3> There are 4 exam series. To become a full fledged Actuary you need to clear 15 papers. These papers are subjective and not MCQ like ACET. The exam series are
CT- 9 papers (8 theory and 1 practical)
CA- 3 papers (2 practical and 1 thoery). You cannot appear for CA series until you clear CT series completely
ST- 2 papers. Actually in ST series there are 8 papers. But you need to chose only 2 depending on your choice of specialization. Also you should have minimum 3 years of work ex by this time. This 3 yrs of work ex need not be relevant.
SA- 1 paper. There are 6 papers in SA series. But depending on your choice in ST series you will appear for 1 paper

4> After this you are an ACTUARY.

Please do not PM with questions like which paper you should specialize in because I myself don't have that idea.

@dextar yup u r compltly correct... go ahead...? acha ny idea iz thr ny deadline dates for purchasing CT series material 2 gv away wid the xams.....?
