Dear Friends,

I have recently decided to apply for INSEAD Sep 2012 intake. I am targeting R2 closing 07-Dec-2011 as chances might be low in R3 and i am not targeting R1 for Jan 2013 as i think, if its possible why to lose another 6 months (I already have 6.5 yrs of work ex till now).

I wanted to get your opinion - is targeting 07-Dec application deadline realistic?

I would start GMAT prep now and would target around 20-27 Nov for GMAT exam and would send my unofficial report card with the application. I would take TOEFL sometime before that. I plan to work on essays and recos consistently and plan to submit the application online in first week of Dec along with the unofficial GMAT and TOEFL score.

Please comment.

Thanks in advance

Are you applying to any other European B-school?
Could you please give me any info on the b-schools in Europe?

Hey there!!

Do we need TOEFL for INSEAD? They say, the medium should be clearly mentioned on your university degree which is never the case. In that case I assume option left is to go for TOEFL, but I would still like to have a confirmation and looking at your ID, i am sure you can help me out there...:)

Abhi.

From my experience in applying for b-schools in europe and UK, it isn't always necessary to give an English test. The visa guidelines state that it is dependent on the university given they are your primary sponsors for course of your education. What I did was, while conversing with the uni representatives, I clearly stated that all my education was conducted in the medium of English. This was further aided by the fact that my under grad degree is american.
Though this was applicable until 2011, from April 2012 speculatively an english test is a must. I am trying to confirm the same with my university in glasgow, Watch this space.

Send them an email explaining this.. Most likely you wouldn't have to give TOEFL....

But I am surprised we seem to have very few aspirants on PG for INSEAD sept'12 intake especially since the R1 deadline is days away ? Can't see any other thread as well...

Had submitted my application a few days back...Understand from previous discussions that it takes a while for Indian applicants to get invites for interviews...

There are some posts in http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/international-indian-mba-schools-accepting/59897-insead-jan-2012-intake-class-8.html#post2946935 but this is a more relevant thread...

Got a word in from my uni in Glasgow (University of Strathclyde)
'The changes shall be applicable only post April 2012(confirmed English Test) but there is a chance it would again fall under universities discretion' Primarily, its how well you ensure the representatives taking your interview of your prowess on the language and how they gauge you on the basis of your SOP.
Hope this bit of information helps. Also remember, this information is only applicable for UK universities

I sent an e-mail to INSEAD regarding this. Our university gives a separate certificate for medium of instruction. They sent a reply asking me to be ready with that certificate before the Admissions Coordinator gets back to me (may be another 10 - 15 days). So now I am flying to Vizag on Monday to get my certificate.

Check with your university if they also provide a certificate like this. If yes, get it immediately.

HI ppl

I applied for R1 on 28th by 1230...phew

Regarding language certification, if you college gives a letter stating that the language of instruction was English... then you are done..

I mailed to INSEAD and got this answer... Then mailed to my collage and got the letter... :D

Waiting for intew call...

Hey - I have got a confirmation that my document is complete and will be reviewed for R1. fingers crossed!!
