So guys shoot up.

wating for ur valuable reply
J.C.D:)

hi jcd
it's krishna here. XIME accepted CAT and XAT scores last year, the cutoffs were 85 & 80 respectively. The avg acore of my batch is @ 90 in XAT.
The conversion rate is around 85-90+ (converting your interview call into an admission) in both CAT and XAT.
There are students with perecentiles ranging from 80 to 98.xx .
hope that answers ur question:) .

1. since xime accepts both cat and xat scores, can u ppl tell me how many seats out of 120 r earmarked only 4 cat takers?

2. wat is d avg cat score of d previous batch?

3. out of 120 seats how many r open to general category?

4. wat is d approx no. of applications received last yr 4 pgdbm?

hi nblueblaze

1. There is no such thing as seats earmarked for only CAT or only XAT scores, they will take the better of your 2 scores, if you have written both the exams.

2. Not sure of CAT, but as Krishna said, 90+ %tile was the average XAT score.

3. There is no such thing as reservation here, all seats are open to the general category.

Glad to be of help
Avijit.

Pls tell us somthng bout Placements. and the batch profile...Wat % of the batch has workex n wat the avg workex is like....
Also how gud is the school for Marketing specialisation.............

Hi

1. XIME shortlists applicants based on the following criteria
a) Test score of XAT/CAT
b) Academics and extracurricular activities
c) Work-ex
As Avijit has mentioned there are no seats earmarked for cat seperately. Its adviseable to apply through both scores for increasing ur chance of being shortlisted.

2. Not sure but a conservative estimate; around 84.xx

3.All the admissions are based on merit only.

4. not sure abt this too will inform u at the earliest.

all the best for the exams

hi

1.The placements for the present batch will happen in january 2007.
The placemnts stats for the previous batch (2004-2006) are
a) avg salary - 4.5 lakhs
b) Highest salary - 7.2 (Infosys, 2-3 students got this offer).

2. The stat's of our batch are as follows.
a) 58% freshers, 42% work-ex of 1 yr plus -
b) 46% B-Tech, 26% B.Com, 11% BBM, 9% BSc, 6% BA, 1% MA, 1% B Pharma.

3. Till recently Xime was known for HR, for the past two years placements for Marketing
and Finance have been equally good. The faculty for these streams are also very good.
I suggest u ckeck the link posted below with respect to this.

Thnks for the info dude...Grt goin.......

thanks a lot @avi550m & @kruiz for replying 2 my query!
as both of u ve stated dat there rnt ny seats earmarked 4 cat or xat takers as such....then can u give us no of students admitted thru cat only out of 120 in ur cls so dat we can ve a fairly rough idea abt d composition of d batch?

thanks again 2 both of u!

waiting 4 ur reply.........

hi nblueblaze

well, I don't have an exact number of the composition on only cat or only xat based candidates, but I feel that there are slightly more people who got through with xat scores, though many of us had applied with cat and xat scores.

Krishna may be able to better explain to you the composition of the batch based on the scores.

Krishna said that the cutoffs were 80 for xat and 85 for cat. i feel it was 85 for xat and 80 for cat. will clarify this later.

also, what kind of information about the batch do you want to know based on the cat or xat scores? can you please explain this so we can help you better.

sir,d thing is like dis--
sir,i ll b appearing only 4 cat not 4 xat...though xime accepts scores of both d xams but in d website its written dat "XIME is an Associate Member for the XAT Test" dat implies dat de ll prefer xat scorers to cat counterparts...so sir naturally d seat sharing among cat and xat scorers ll not be equal...sir, it d b very helpful if can give d no of students who ve secured admission in ur cls solely on d basis of cat (its not stated in mandatory disclosure) dat ll help me determine whether to take d xime form or not.
sir plz do ans my query...
thanks a lot....

Hi pal,
I had mentioned in my previous posts the selection criteria for shortlisting. To make things more simple take the example of MICA (mudra) which also takes scores of both tests(CAT/XAT), it dosen't have any seats reserved for CAT exclusively.

Likewise in XIME too there are NO seats reserved for XAT or CAT applicants exclusively.

An Insight into the shortlisting process of a typical B-School.
A B-School shortlists candidates for interview and final selection by assigning seperate
weightages to the following sections of the admission procedure.

a) XAT/CAT score - 40%
b) Past Academic record - 10%
c) Work-ex - 20%
These are usually the major criteria considered during shortlisting a candidate for interview.
d) GD & PI (group discussion and personal interview) - 30%
This criterion along with '(a),(b) and (c)' cumulatively are considered for the final admission.

NOTE - THE WEIGHTS ASSIGNED ARE ONLY HYPOTHETICAL AND CAN CHANGE FROM INSTITUTE TO INSTITUTE AND ALSO FORM YEAR TO YEAR.

Analyse the above senario in context of XIME. As mentioned @ XIME we had seperate cuttoffs for each test XAT - 80 percentile, CAT - 85 percentile.
Suppose there are two applicant A & B.
A has a CAT score of 85, B has a XAT score of 80.
BOTH OF THEM GET THE SAME POINTS IN SECTION (a) OF SELECTION CRITERIA.

An Institute arrives at these Cuttoffs based on the difficulty level of the test and the quality and number of candidates taking the test. This also gives the candidate an opportunity to increase his chances, as the Institute takes the higher of the two test scores.

XIME is an associate member of XAT test, but i assure u it has no bias towards CAT applicants and the method of devising the cutoffs for both the tests are pretty transparent. The seat sharing ratio among CAT and XAT applicants is not equal because lot of people in our batch have applied through their XAT scores. Regarding the numbers (seat-sharing) I will have to enquire with the ADMIN, i will let u know at the earliest.
