Because there is nothing called first preference other than the campus.
The teachers, profs, courses, admissions, schedules, exams and placements are absolutely the same (unlike some other colleges where this is not the case - thats because everything is tending to one single general management degree with majors that you choose)
thats why from the point of view of the college they are not doing what they think as right.
what you should care about is your Area of Specialisation.
Also people dont be in the mindset that the college will automatically give you another course - It is very possible given the logic of the college that they will not automatically move you up or down a scheduled list -> This is exactly why it has a cut-off of 90%ile when it can afford to have it way above that.
They are looking for profiles which fit and they have got a huuuugeeee pool of candidates. Therefore be careful before you pass an opportunity which may land you in troubles unless well prepared.

To just draw a narrative - This year highest placement for DCP has also been the highest placement at IMT-Ghaziabad which is 30 Lakhs Per Annum. The average salary is also exactly the same as FT+Fin.

hey...i got admission to IMT Ghaziabad...:) need to make a caution deposit of 50,000....Wil this money be refunded if we dont take up admission later if we get into an even better college?
