Yes, Even I came to hear of the placements...Please throw some light on the placement scenario....Also, the large batch-size that constitute the intake of the institute is a matter of concern...Please reply...

At my centre they did ask for Copies. Which they keep for themselves. apart from originals which they check to verify. Didnt mention this in the mail. had to take copies from library of college
@ANK1TGUPTA hey, cross this bridge when you will reach there. IMO convert a call then speculate about strength of batch, previous placements etc etc.

I am not speculating about these factors...I am just expecting an answer to the simple queries which almost everyone is having....

Given the mutual love between engineers and B-schools, I guess they shud make engineering a 6 year course (4 yrs of engineering+2 years of MBA) and quash whatever little hopes non-engineers have!!.. (Just a random rant by a non-engineer)
@BaTamizh_Bhukad hey dude, u sud go and have a look at the admission policies of the iims, being an engineer is defined as a crime there.Even after getting 98-99+ %ile in cat,we engineers are sorted out, while a commerce or a law grad is welcomed with open hands at a decent 90+ .. not to mention the other two mistakes of my life- general, and male.....
@neppo The very fact that they had to make a separate 'quota' for non-engineers is proof of the fact that engineers were the 1st choice earlier! 'Open-hands welcome' notwithstanding, engineers are still preferred over others at every premier b-school. 86% of the students at IMT are engineers!! The stats are there for all to see. If you are a non-engineer, you better be from St. Stephen's, St. Xavier's or the SRCC's of the world, or better still, be a CA. Pretty high standards for admitting a non-engineer. However, I see scores of engineers, who despite graduating from unheard of colleges from the Hobb's end of the universe, make it to decent b-schools.

@BaTamizh_Bhukad Probably because those same engineers from 'unheard of colleges' have broken their heads and backs to get past the higher cut-offs set for them. A person from a non-engineering background who gets a decent score and does moderately well in the GD/PI stands a better chance of getting into a good B-school merely because of the "diversity factor".
Look at the additional marks allocated if you're a non-engineer at most of the b-schools, and when you see the fine margins between an accept and a reject, you'd know how big a factor those eventually turn out to be.
This is the first time I've seen a rant from a non-engineering grad about b-schools loving engineers. Your educational background doesn't matter half as much as your caliber. Prove yourself and it won't matter whether you're from the IITs, St. Stephen's or a random patshala in some remote village.

I still havent received a call from imt g...XAT 91.70%ile. Does imt-g also consider 10 & 12 Marks for shiortlisting.?
