Since IIFT 2011 is fast approaching I am sure people are going all guns blazing with the prep.As TIME had conducted only one IIFT mocks which I guess was not written by many people because of CAT prep,I though this could be a good platform to discuss the IIFT mocks given by IMS.
The test Pack has 4 mocks to be taken at home and the fifth one would be conducted at centre and the results provided.
So,Let us all use this thread to discuss the IIFT Mocks from IMS .We can post our sectional scores,overall score ,doubts if any and thus make this prep somewhat interesting as it has become kinda boring.
So, pitch in people (all those who have this test pack) with your performances .

I think Yes.
It would probably come for around INR 500 ( a set of 5 tests)
so this IIFT Mock pack comes at an extra price or the students already registered with IMS for SIMCAT series get this free?
ARE IIFT MOCKS provided by IMS GOOD OR AVG? PLEASE TELL if anyone has taken it, hw is the gk content in these mocks

About the IMS pack, when will the invigilated exam be conducted? Is there any date declared yet? As there is only one weekend in between, would it be conducted then or some weekday?

There is no GK book with the test pack but then you have 5 tests and there would be 30 ques in each of the tests.
I'm appearing for the IIFt for the first time so dont know much about the difficulty level but I'll put forward a few pointers for you.
I've heard that the DI for IIFT is time consuming and I found the case to be exactly same with the first test (I've attempted only one test from this pack till now.)
QA was of moderate level. GK is not my strength and I'm generally not able to attempt much there but in this case I ended up attempting 12 ques out which 9 were correct.
VA was also easy to moderate. I'd say it was of the same level as VA in AIM IIFT of this season.
There is no ranking for these papers but I would suggest you to target a score of 40+ in all the IIFT mocks that you attempt.
Another thing to note here is that the tests would be shipped to you in about 1 week. Considering this, you'll get the test pack around 21-22 Nov if you order today. So, you need to decide fast as to whether you need this pack or not.

I just called up IMS center, they told me
1. They are going to provide with a GK booklet.
2. Only one mock will be evaluated by IMS. (not sure which one and how? Forgot to ask)
3. I can pick up the material from their center, by paying across the counter. I informed them that I want to buy it today, and they are fine with it.
Will let you guys know, what hapened, after visiting the IMS center.

1.I called them and asked about the GK book.I was told that there is no GK book and that this facility is available through their online portal called GQ.I am yet to check it out.
2.Regarding how close these papers are ,I can not comment exactly as I gave only IIFT test 1.Regarding this paper,the thing is it was exactly on the similar lines as IIFT 2010.About the questions I think ,QA was pretty much the same as IIFT ,DI easier than IIFT ,LR more tricky as compared to what we got last year.
For VA/RC ,I found them to be more or less to be of the same level.
GK was for sure easier in this mock.Overall ,some sections match the IIFT standards and some do not .
But the point is ,we have five tests to practice and make ourselves familiar to the pattern and hone our strategy.So thinking on those lines,it is pretty ok to go for them
Also TIME conducted only one mock IIFT and I guess it tried to replicate 2010 IIFT paper.So ,all in all ,I guess it was not that good a mock to test ourselves.
3.Thirdly,only test 5 would be on all india basis and it would this Sunday( as told by IMS).About the strength of the ppl taking this test ,I have no clue. 😃 ..
Also,as said by Utsav above one should definitely target above 40 in all the IMS mocks.I screwed the first one by scoring approx 32. 😞 ....scored almost the same in AIM IIFT as well.

S4:-QA (7.67 ......Lot of stupid mistakes)
overall:- 31.70 ...should have scored around 40 ,if not for all the silly Mistakes in qa and calculation mistakes in DI .
Took IIFT Test 101 on Sunday.
Messed up with the time management. Need to start with RCs from the next test.
RC: 4C 0W = 2.8
VA: 9C 2W = 4.16
LDI: 12C 0W = 12
GK: 10C 3W = 3.6
QA: 10C 2W = 9.33
OA = 31.9
Still a long way to go. Hope I get on with the time management from the next test onwards.

Hey can anybody help me out on how to prepare for GK for IIFT and SNAP. I am finding it difficult to fimd the right things to study fo GK. Please help me on this.....:-(

Feels better after a dismal 31.xx in 101...still this paper was a bit easier and I was a bit more determined to get a decent score.......have been finding really hard to concentrate these days after an avg CAT......!!....hoping to put up a decent performance in IIFT ,if I am able to concentrate....But,it looks like GK is all set to spoil it for me....why the Hell they put GK man...!!!......:sneaky:
Gave the first IIFT mock..., i.e. TEST 101
My scores are :
Sec 1 ( RC) : 3C, 0W = 2.1 , didnt get enuf time..cud do only 1 rc
Sec 2 (VA) : 11 C , 4 W = 4.9 
Sec 3(DI/LR) : 13 C , 0W = 13
Sec 4 (G.K.) : 5C, 3W = 1.6 no idea how to improve this in a week :(
Sec 5 : (quants ) : 12 C, 3 W = 11
Total = 32.6 i need to improve G.k. and VA scores
Btw puys who have given IIFT last year.. was this test level same as that of actual IIFT???

last year i joined ims and gave the tests which u all are giving...
these tests are a tad lower than the difficulty but gave me enough practice to convrt my final gd/pi call..
here are some things which i folowed for iift:-
1)solve these papers in 1 hour 45 minutes...as u r at home so less pressure..
2) solve some series questions...get a hold on past iift papers.they must be available at test funda.
3) quant would be tough...in exam try and solve at least 5-6 questions correctly..although there were no sectionals cutoff last year but in 2009 quant cut-off ws 3 marks for general.
4)for english revise some voacb it would be really helpful...barrons high frequency list.
5) doing past cat papers as questions were repeated in earlier iift exms.
6) people plz get hold f time gk material ....that would be enough..last time there were arnd 13-14 questions out of those.
lastly...one section would be easy & u will have to hit that..last year ld-di part was easy..i scored 17 in that...
iift is a tough exam like xat...it would test u...don't give uo in the exam if u r not able to solve questions...
