Dear All,

We are starting a new thread to discuss about IPMX, the one year residential MBA program at IIM Lucknow. We are students from the current batch (2013-2014) and would try to answer questions that prospective applicants have about the programme. The upcoming batch (2014-2015) would be the seventh batch of IPMX. IPMX is the only one year programme offered by an IIM to have a dedicated campus. The program also consists of a 2-3 week International Business Module. For the last batch it was at Kelly Business School, Macedonia. The location for the current batch is still being discussed.

We welcome all prospective applicants to this thread. We, students of IIM Lucknow - IPMX 6th batch, would try our best to help the prospective candidates.

The program details can be found at : Post Graduate Programme

More information about the life in IPMX can be found at the student's blog: Life At IIM Lucknow - IPMX | 1 Year Full Time Executive MBA at IIM Lucknow

We wish you good luck!

A few Guidelines about the topics of discussion on this thread :

1) Please do not send in profile evaluation requests for the IPMX program. We shall try to help you with the general information on the admissions.

2) Kindly refrain from comparing MBA programs offered from different schools on this thread.

I have some queries...

1) When does the batch start?
2) Is it a rolling admission process...any advantage in submitting the application ahead of the end date?
3) I have a GMAT of 640...6 years of experience Currently working as BA with Accenture LLP (US). Just wanted a logical guess whether I should go ahead and apply
4) What are the fees this year........

Can someone from IIM L evaluate my profile.

By the time I join it would be 7 years work ex inclusive of 2+ years of international experience. Already done BE and MMS & working as a Business Analyst with an IT firm. Excellent awards and major worldwide recognised certifications in the field of business analysis (CBAP) & Insurance (FLMI & AFSI).GMAT score of just 650.

Hi ipmx...Where can we find the placement statistics for IPMX prog.? Regds

@pummy1983 Please visit the iiml official website for the Admission criteria. Here's the path Programs - > IPMX -> Admissions. And also the 2012-2013 batch profile at

It is being updated for the current batch. These would give you a decent idea about the profiles selected

@reviliant Here are the answers :

1) When does the batch start?

First week of April every year. Watch out for the admissions notice on the official iiml website Programs -> IPMX -> Admissions

2) Is it a rolling admission process...any advantage in submitting the application ahead of the end date?

Not rolling admissions till last year. Watch out for this year's admissions notice(would come out in the next couple of weeks)

3) I have a GMAT of 640...6 years of experience Currently working as BA with Accenture LLP (US). Just wanted a logical guess whether I should go ahead and apply

Please refer to my previous post on profile evaluation

4) What are the fees this year........

Watch out for the admissions notice

@SakyS It is typically published on the iiml official website under Programs -> IPMX -> Placements

Hi Guys

I want to apply for IPMX 2014-15 batch. I will have 5 yrs 10 mnths experience by march 2014 and not 6 years. Can i request adcom to consider my case or i will have to wait one year to apply.

Do we need to fill form by pen? Can recommeders type form and sign? They are not willing to spend time writing.

Dear Adcom,

My recommender resides in US.
Is scanned copy of recommendation letter with signature accepted ?

@Kankana_c Scanned copy of the recommendation letter is not accepted. The sealed hard copy of the recommendation letters need to be sent to the admissions office. However, you can ask your recommenders to send them directly to IPMX Admissions office if that suits them better. Please make sure the recommendations have your name and the GMAT ID so that it can be traced back to your application.
@Exec2015 The recommendation letters can be typed and signed. For the application form, it is advisable to fill up the application form by pen.
@vikasinnitdgp The admission criteria cannot be relaxed. The eligibility criteria for the program is minimum 6 years work exp.

I think the purpose of sending a sealed letter is to maintain confidentiality. If the recommendor sends the letter via email from his corporate account, then the purpose is served. Below is the problem which needs to be addressed by IIML :

>> Recommendors (mostly very senior execs) are not willing to spend time going to post office to post letters. They rather prefer the modern mode of communication: online portal or atleast an email.

The problem multiplies if he is based outside India.

>> We all take pride in IIML for providing world class education with superior infrastructure. Hope they provide a solution by accepting recommendation letters from Official mail ID.
