Hi All! I am starting this new thread for all those aspirants for IIM Indore's EXPGP program 2008-2010. I am student of EXPGP at IIM Indore and I welcome all the prospective applicants to you this thread to post queries .I also request them to post their short profile along with the queries. Myself and couple of my friends at IIM Indore will try our best to help them out.
My stats: CAT 2006: 98.83 ; Work Ex: 9 Years ;Background: Business Consulting.
The CAT 2007 results are out. So for people who are interested in this course, here is detailed information:
1. This is a course in general management, a student can specialise in his chosen area. Large number of electives are available in Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Operations etc.
2.Excellent course for those who want to change their line.
3.IMPORTANT: You study the same course ( minus few basic theoritical courses) from the same teachers, from the same books, at the same campus and at the same classrooms as the PGP folks at IIM I.
4.On completion here is what you get: An EPGDBM ;MBA degree from one of the IIM's, that too in a period of 18 months.You become part of IIM I and Pan IIM alumni.
5.BIG NEWS: The institute offers officially, placement for all the students who complete this course. This has been started with class which entered in 2007! There is no doubt that EXEPGP folks are going to improve upon the placement record of IIM Indore in a big way!Almost all of them will be having lateral placements.
6.The facilites for EXPGP are world class. Students stay in a/c rooms with attached baths and there is even room service!!!
7.If you want you can work as well, during the off campus days or can take up consulting assignment with some organisation! So, if you want you can earn as well as study!
8.About the class: We are 52 of us. Almost all of them have come after clearing CAT.There are many with percentiles of 99.xx types who opted for this course.But remember here CAT score is not everything. IIM looks for more than 5 years of work experience and if you can prove that you have a great work ex and achievements , who knows you can make with even lesser CAT score.
So for all those, who have 5 + years of work ex and have written CAT this is a great opportunity to be in IIM.For those who have applied for this course great and for those who could not, better do next time!

My CAT Score is 97.81 percentile. Did not get any calls for PGP at any of the IIMs.
What are my chances at EXEPGP at IIM I. I heard shortlist will be out a little later.

Your CAT score will not be a problem but you should have more than 5 years of quality work ex and good academics.

I received interview call for Exe-PGP 2008 @ IIM, Indore eventhough I got very less CAT percentile.My Profile:Work Ex - 5.4 yrs in Telecom Acads - B.Tech (80% and above from Tenth Standard) EC - AverageCAT2008- 75 Percentile XAT2008- 95 PercentileCalls - XLRI-GMPOfcourse, I haven't prepared for CAT 2008 at all...Recently,I started preparing for GMAT seriously to apply for ISB, IIMA ( Exe-PGP)...I am very much amazed to receive the call letter with such a low CAT score...Seniors!! I have few queries please:1a) Is the course really worth doing?? I doubt bcoz my CAT score is too poor...n still I got a call1b) Howz the mode of learning in EXE-PGP?? Whether Case Studies, Role plays, challenging assignments, projects, international exposure...are included in the course??????????2) After the pre-campus term of 25 days, first term of 9 days, etc, whether the student have to return back to the previous employer / work compulsorily?? or Can he stay back @ IIMI without paying any extra fee for tuition, hostel,boarding,etc other than Rs. 5.5 Lakh mentioned ??3) What are the Placement Stats for the 2007 & 2008 batches?? 4) What kind of roles were offered and whatz the average and highest pay for the current and last batches?? Howz the Industry response to this programme??5) If I get admission at XLRI-GMP & IIMI Exe-PGP, then which is the best choice?6) Can you rank Exe-PGP of IIMI in India with ISB, XLRI, IIMA, Great Lakes, SP Jain, etc ??Thanking u in anticipation 4 ur quick reply..VIV_2008
