Wonder why they are coming with thier exams so early. Anyway, would be getting the from starting on 18th itself.

hey, last time the IIFT exam was announced on 2nd january 2005. but because XAT was on the same date, they had to shift the exam to the 9th. i guess they want to avoid such a mess this time and that's why they've come out with their exam date this early so that no other institute holds their exam on that day.

Last time iift paper was very very bad....
it made absolutely no sense to me...
and regarding the marks... the paper is out of a 100 marks ( i hope i remember it well )
and every section has a different mark attached to each question in that section...
The highest being maths ( i think it is 1/2 marks per question)
P.S. what a pity... i dont remember the sexact pattern of the paper set by the school which i am moving to in the next one week...

the last time..this was the marks distribution:
QA = 0.6 marks
VA = 0.55 marks
GA = 0.4 marks
a uniform negative marking of 0.2 was implemented. the total paper was of 100 marks, prolly

so as u know this time iift is conducting its exam so early so u'll have to prepare for general knowledge along with other CAT topics....
Total Number of Questions : 196
Total Time : 120 minutes.
The Marking Scheme :
0.60 mark for each correct answer of section I.
0.55 mark for each correct answer of section II.
0.40 mark for each correct answer of section III.
0.60 mark for each correct answer of section IV.
There was negative marking 1/5 of each question's weight.
Number of options : Five
Sectional Break-up
Data Interpretation + Logical Reasoning +
48 48 0.6 = 28.8
Reading Comprehension + English Usage 50 50 0.55 = 27.5
III General Knowledge 50 50 0.4 = 20
IV Mathematical Aptitude 48 48 0.6 = 28.8

by the way, Am I the only person happy with IIFT's decision to take exams so early???:)
