Third week of June with orientation programme and regular classes from 1
st
July for
PGDFM and FPM programmes.

i am deeply interested to work in forests through WWF , Forest Deptts and other wildlife organisation after doing a MBA from IIFM . I was going through the IIFM website , Indian Institute of Forest Management :: Current Placement Stats . But i didnt find any such organisation as recuiters.
So , i wanted to know whether such wildlife organsitions actually recruit from IIFM.

Would be extremely happy if any one can help me out in this regard.

I am also not sure whether organisations mentioned in the past recruiter list like UNICEF/WWF/ADB recruit anymore..

Not much info is available about the latest statistics like organisations visiting etc Also no seniors are available it seems..if anyone here personally knows a current student then please share his.her feedback..but as of now lots of queries remain unanswered for the aspirants..

hi congrats to all of u who are selected and best of luck for the wait listed candidates....the senior batch has gone for summer internship that s why no one is there for answering your queries...i myself am in Kanha national park for my summer internship.I will try my best to take out time and answer your queries.

Regarding recruitment by wildlife NGO's, yes wwf has become regular recruiter now,also many students go to Jungle lodges and Resorts for the same although it is not a wildlife institute but you have to work in the forests.MP FOREST Department is also a regular recruiter...
and 2011-13 batch's Summer Internship scenario was as follows regarding wildlife and forests..

wwf-6 interns
kanha national park - 3 interns
snow leopard conservancy,spiti- 1 intern
MP forest department-4 interns
Maharashtra forest department-2 interns
Tadoba national park-2 interns
Periayar national park- offered 4 places for interns but none went there
Goa forest Department-2 interns.
Chatiisgar Forest Department-1 intern

many institute like GEER foundation,Wetland south asia also offers internship if u are interested.
Internet is a problem here in jungle so i request you all to keep checking FB page of IIFM GD-pi call getters for recent updates....http://www.facebook.com/groups/iifmaspirants/

Regarding placement scenario by wildlife institute you will get more clear picture there

Guys, don't worry about Final and SI placements, as usual we achieved more than 100% placements for both. Though I will not mention the name of all the organizations which came for recruitment but it varies from Forest Departments, National Parks, Wild Life NGOs, NGOs to Corporate and Consultancies.

But remember one thing if you are joining this institute then you should have interest in forestry, environment and rural management. Though you will get your final placements in every sector.
